Contribution to the MTG system operations development for SC operations related topics. Contribution to the implementation, test and reviews of the different operations related elements of the MTG system including satellites and ground segments. Contribution to the MTG operations preparations activities, mainly at Space Segment level but including also Ground Segment aspects. Participation to the preparation and execution of the Operational System Validation activities also including SVTs, rehearsals and the necessary training activities for the various operations personnel prior to system commissioning. Contribute to the definition andor review of MTG commissioning activities. Ideal candidate In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the key person shall have proven experience of spacecraft operations. Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the key persons to have experience with some of the following Operations andor design of satellite Payload for earth observations Operations preparation of a satellite project Routine spacecraft operations for Geostationary missions. The key persons shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, demonstrating analytical approach and attention to detail and shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work without supervision. This role provides you with a unique opportunity to undertake realtime Spacecraft Operations on a highprofile meteorological satellite fleet in geostationary orbit. You will also work in parallel as an Operations Preparations Engineer to prepare for the operations of the next generation of spacecraft. Working as part of a highly technical and coordinated engineering team you should be true team player. We expect you to be willing and able to provide cover and support to your colleagues and undertake occasional call out responsibilities. It is likely that you will have main or backup responsibilities for one or a number of spacecraft subsystems including Thermal TCS, Electrical Power Systems EPS, Data Handling DHS, Telemetry Tracking and Control TTC, Attitude and Orbit Control AOCS etc. Although some training will be provided, any experience in one or more of these disciplines would be beneficial. Qualification Experience You should have a University degree in the domain of engineering, physics or equivalent and additionally have some working experience of either routine operations of satellite systems or operations preparation, ideally within a geostationary spacecraft environment. Some experience of interfacing to Flight Dynamics and Mission Planning teams would also be beneficial. Much of the role involves data analysis, reporting, prioritising actions according to constraints, preparing technical presentations and developing technical solutions to complex issues so these activities should all be second nature to you.
