Network Operations Manager Key Tasks and Responsibilities Part of the Galileo Operations team, the candidate will deal with the daily coordination between the Network associated activities and the MissionConstellation operations team and the alignment of OPS. More specifically, the following responsibilities Ensuring the full integration of network operations GDDN, MDDN, SDDN into the WP6 operational processes planning, reporting, handling of incidents, escalation, etc. Ensuring that all network operations are executed in a timely manner and without affecting the planned MissionControl operations Liaising with the OSM for all network issues affecting operations Ensuring coordination between WP6 GroundNetworks teams both from the GDDN, MDDN, SDDN service provider and GCCs operations team GDDN, MDDN and SDDN Service Management and SLA monitoring Planning Request and Incident management. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Degree in TelecommunicationsElectronics, Physics Several years of experience least 10 years of work experience in network and connectivity engineering and operations Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Tasks and Responsibilities The work will be performed at the European Space Operations CentreESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. The Spacecraft Operations Engineer SOE is responsible forthe Payload and might have to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE services, including test, validation and operation of the Mission Control System, Mission Planning System and Simulator. Being part of the Operations team, the general activities to be supported are Study of Project specific Characteristics and Ground Segment Documentation Preparation of Functional Requirements for the Project dedicated Flight Control Software Participation in the Analysis and Design of Satellite Operations Preparation of Functional Requirements for the Project dedicated Flight Control Ground Facilities Preparation of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures Mission Management and Mission Planning Support OnBoard Software Maintenance Support Production of Project specific Software Validation and Satellite Interface Validation Test SVT Procedures, Reports and Participation in SVTs Participation in the System Operations Validation Test SOV, Training and Simulation Programmes Participation in Launch and Early Orbit Phase LEOP and Mission Critical Operations General Flight Control Support Spacecraft Performance Analysis Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline and minimum 7 years of experience in Operations Engineering activities. Furthermore, candidates are required to have following skills Spacecraft subsystem knowledge. Fluency in English, both in speech and writing. Experience in activities applicable to spacecraft operations. Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Able to work independently. Familiarity with the ESOC environment. Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000. Some experience dealing with external interfaces. Familiarity with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat. The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously. The position is located on site at ESOC. Carpenter Technology takes steps to cut costs, strengthen operations

Carpenter Technology Corporation announced a restructuring plan Tuesday that, officials said, will help the company cut costs, improve profitability and strengthen operations. The $30 million savings plan includes reducing Carpenter's salaried positions by approximately 200, or 10 percent of the Berks County-based company's salaried workforce, officials said.
