Based on Xilinx® Virtex® UltraScale™ XCVU440 FPGA, AMC595 complies with AMC.1/.2/.4 specification and serves such applications as large-scale ASIC prototyping and emulation. On-board, re-configurable FPGA, supported by 16 GB DDR4 64-bit wide memory, has flexible clocking subsystem and direct connections to backplane. Other features include 1.2 GHz Freescale QorIQ P2040 processor based on Power Architecture and supported by 1 GB DDR3, 128 MB Boot Flash, and 32 GB SD card.

Based on Xilinx Virtex-6 FPGA, Cobalt® Model 71664 includes IP engine for VITA 49 Radio Transport protocol. Front end A/D converter stage accepts 4 analog HF or IF inputs on front panel SSMC connectors, with each transformer-coupled to TI ADS5485 200 MHz, 16-bit A/D converters. Designed for both rugged and lab environments, Model 71664 comes preconfigured with suite of built-in functions for digital down conversion, data capture, synchronization, time tagging, and formatting.

A vacancy for an ASIC and FPGA Engineer has arisen within the Communication Processor Group with Airbus Defence and Space based in Stevenage. The Communication Processors group is responsible for the development of Digital Processors for use in telecommunication Satellites. The processor functionality ranges from high capacity channelisers, supporting intersatellite optical data links, to implementing cryptographic algorithms to protect the spacecraft. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Decomposition of requirements into an architecture design and document the chosen design whilst describing any tradeoffs performed. Detailed RTL design in VHDL. Verification of the RTL design and documenting the verification that was performed. Gate level implementation of the design including synthesis, placement and static timing analysis. Support integration of the ASIC FPGA into the target hardware. Ensure that all ASIC FPGA designs are developed in accordance with the company design process. Support customer design reviews. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to degree level in Electronic Engineering or related discipline. Experienced in the complete Design flow from Requirements to Design acceptance. Experienced in FPGA technologies and their tools including Xilinx ISE and Microsemi Libero. Experienced in VHDL simulation tools in particular Mentor Graphics Questa. Experienced in synthesis and STA tools ideally those from Synopsys. Experience of the Linux operating system would be beneficial. Knowledge of scripting languages including TCL and PERL would be beneficial. Good analytical skills and methodical approach to problem resolution and investigations. Good communication skills and able to thrive in a team environment. Pentek Adds VITA 49 Protocol Engine To Cobalt FPGA Boards

Pentek, Inc., recently announced the newest member of its highly popular Cobalt family of high-speed data converter XMC FPGA modules: the 4-channel Cobalt Model 71664, is a 200 MHz 16-bit A/D with programmable digital down converter, based on the Xilinx Virtex-6 FPGA. The Model 71664 is the first Pentek product to include an IP engine for the VITA 49 Radio Transport (VRT) protocol.

Latest GPAK4 mixed-signal FPGA project sees the light

I just heard from my chum Wojciech Rynczuk, who is and embedded software engineer with Rockwell Automation based in Poland. . Some time ago, the folks at Silego offered 25 free GPAK4 development kits to whoever could tempt me with the tastiest of tempting ideas for GPAK4-related projects .
