Job description For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are seeking an experienced Flight onboard Software Engineer to work at ESAs ESTEC site in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to ESAESTECs Flight Software Systems section within the Software Systems Division of the Directorate of Technical and Quality Management DTEC. Within the Flight Software Systems Section, support is provided to ESAs Earth Observation projects of the current and future ESA earth observation missions, e.g. Sentinel1, Sentinel2, Sentinel3, EarthCare, MTG. Support is also provided to Space Science missions such as BepiColombo, Solar Orbiter, and JUICE. This support includes monitoring and supporting the implementation, verification and validation of Flight Software. You shall function as an integrated team member of the Sections development team, in charge of the following initial tasks General Support to Software Validation Facilities SVF and Avionics Test Bench ATB infrastructure activities. Qualifications Competencies The successful candidate shall have A Masters degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Space Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline. At least 4 years of relevant working experience in the aerospace industry. In particular experience with Software engineering and objectoriented programming. Programming languages CC andor others. Within the Flight Dynamics Mission Analysis team of the Flight Operations Division, the Meteosat Flight Dynamics Engineer works on the engineering and operations of the flight dynamics systems for the Meteosat Second Generation MSG satellites and supports the development of the new Meteosat Third Generation satellite system in the areas of mission analysis, operations preparation, system integration and validation. Position is focussed on the EGSE integration on both models starting with the Flight Model FM in Friedrichshafen, Germany, followed for 2 months for environmental tests NetherlandsGermany before continuing the mission on the EM and FM model in Toulouse the mission end in Kourou for launch under discussion. You will have the opportunity to follow nearly the entire AIT period of the JUICE SC until launch. Responsibilities You will be assigned to the JUICE AIT Department at Airbus Defence and Space. You will provide on demand expertise in activities related to EGSE systems Understanding of EGSE interfaces, user manual and functions. EGSE setup and operation, locally, through Termas CCS or ATP commands. Contribution to the followup of JUICE tools on the EM Talent issues, KWL update, FVI review and OPS team. Focal point for reporting on FVI meeting. CCS installation upgrades and configuration control. Creation and or adaptation of synoptic pictures. FOPs deliveries management. It means installation of FOPs and coordination with OPS team. Participation, under Airbus team lead, to the preparation and operations of validation activities, run for the first time at EGSE delivery, then repeated after upgrading the EGSE. Specific Tasks Within the Flight Software Systems Section, support is provided to the JUICE Mission and in particular to the Radio Plasma and Wave Instrument RPWI which will characterize the radio emission and plasma environment of the Jupiter System. Software Engineering Standards such as the ECSSEST40C. The contractor shall be part of the RPWI team.
