Science Operations Engineer for LISA Pathfinder

We are currently looking for a Science Operations Engineer to support our customer in Spain. Science Operations Engineer for LISA Pathfinder Key Tasks and Responsibilities In this role you will be part of the the Science and Technology Operations Centre STOC at ESAESAC. Your activities will cover both the development and operational phases for LISA Pathfinder. You will have the following responsibilities Define and maintain the toplevel system design of the Science Operations Ground Segment in the different mission phases Support the definition and maintenance of STOC interfaces and write and maintain interface control documents ICDs Write and maintain operations plans and procedures Monitor the development, installation and configuration control of the software modules Support to the definition, preparation and execution of the integration tests, the Ground Segment tests and imulations Generate the operational payload mission planning documentation Monitor the data ingestion tasks that will receive the telemetry and auxiliary data Support the data archiving tasks that will populate the archive Support the investigation of payload anomalies and the implementation of the recovery. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in science or engineering Several years experience in the development, testing and operations of a scientific operations centre or a similar system Experience in satellite payload operations Experience with operations of scientific satellites and in particular of LISA Pathfinder or its payload would be an asset Good interpersonal and communication skills Fluency in English is mandatory, knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Data Processing Operations Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. In this role you will have the following responsibilities Supporting routine operations involving the MSG, MTP and EPS data processing systems, including Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the MSG, MTP and EPS data processing systems and their quality and availability Level 0 to 2 products Investigating anomalies relating to the performance of the MSG, MTP and EPS data processing systems and their quality and availability Level 0 to 2 products Preparing and reviewing technical documentation relating to data processing operations Providing Standby callout support Supporting the further development of the MSG and EPS data processing systems, including the specification and validation of system updates Supporting the operations preparations for future MSG and EPS spacecraft Supporting the preparations for Meteosat Third Generation Attendance at technical meetings and formal reviews. For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently seeking a Data Processing Operations Engineer to support the routine operations phases of the Meteosat Second Generation MSG, Meteosat Transition MTP and EUMETSAT Polar System EPS Programmes. Tasks The engineer shall work in the Realtime Services and System Operations RSO of the Operations and Services to Users Department as a member of the Data Processing Operations DPO Team supporting the operations of the MSG, MTP and EPS data processing systems. Galileo Operations Early Services Engineer Serco is currently seeking engineering support for monitoring and controlling the overall preparation and execution of the Galileo Early Services Operations Activities. Tasks The successful candidate will support the Galileo Operations Engineering Unit in the coordinating of the definition, preparation, testing, validation, and implementation of the Galileo Early Service operations for the system and user community, as required to meet the overall Galileo requirements. This concerns the Operations service activities performed in the Galileo Control Centres, the Galileo remote stations, the Galileo external entities and the User Communities. For hisher day to day work, the candidate will report to the Head of the Galileo Engineering Operations Unit in order to provide regular support to the Galileo Operations Procurement Office. Our Client is seeking an Operations Service Engineer to support the Galileo Operations Engineering unit. The key requirement of this role is to assist in the coordination of the definition, preparation, testing, validation and implementation of the Galileo Early Service operations for the system and user community as required. Typical duties will include Definition and implementation of the overall service KPIs to be applied to Galileo during the Early Service validation and Provision phases. Technical definition, implementation and validation of the operational KPIs. Regular review and consolidation of OPS contractors contribution to the Service Provision schedule and constraints impacting the Service Provision, preparation and validation of operational procedures for interfacing with the external service providers. Collection, preparation and reporting to the Galileo Project Operations team of all the operations products necessary for the generation of the Galileo NAGUs by direct interface with the Operations contractor for the inputs collection. Collection, preparation and formatting of the Operations Input Operations Service Messages to the Galileo Service Reports in close cooperation with the Galileo Project System Team and the OPS contractor. The successful candidate will have significant experience within a position for operations andor service provision related activities alongside some experience in management tasks. They will have good organisational skills, taking a structured approach to prioritising and managing their workload. Candidates must be fluent in English, both written and oral and be educated to a minimum of degree level in engineering, aerospace or telecommunications. Experience related to developments in the Galileo project GIOVE, IOV, IOC would be desirable but not essential.
