LSE Space is looking for an experienced Engineer mf in order to fulfill the duty of Software Build and Deployment Engineer for our customer EUMETSAT in DarmstadtGermany. The primary responsibilities of this role will be As a member of the CSM Software Librarian team, the consultant shall provide support to the development and maintenance of all current and future operational ground segments. The main duties are the maintenance and the redesign of the asbuilt software build environments and the building, packaging and distribution of any software that can be built onsite. Furthermore the duties include a range of tasks, from support to the operation of the UNIX and Windowsbased ground segment facilities, to the analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance of software functions. They also include the settingup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures as well as the coordination with external providers of maintenance services. In particular the tasks will include Maintenance and development of the asbuilt software build environments Building, packaging and distribution of software releases and patches Support to programmers with respect to software build and development strategies Support the delivery of software externally developed its installation, configuration and testing Investigation into anomalies, their documentation and classification follow up of the delivery of SW corrections Participation in technical meetings and formal reviews Analysis of the maintenance requirements and identification, procurement or implementation of the tools to fulfil them writing of maintenance procedures Interfacing with external contractors who are providing maintenance services for ground segment facilities Requirements In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Key person shall have experience of SW development, configuration controlled software build environments, and experience in SW packaging, installation and configuration for the operation and maintenance of large, realtime Monitoring Control Data Processing systems. The Key person shall have significant work experience in Unix and Unixlike Operating System environments and in Windows and Windows Serverbased environments. HeShe should be familiar, to the extent required by the performance of the above tasks, with networking, distributed applications, and TCPIP services. Knowledge and experience of the following programming languages, software tools and processes is mandatory Essential knowledge and experience in using UnixLinux command line tools Software build environments and tools e.g. autoconfautomake, make, ANT, Maven Source Code control systems, preferably SVN, GIT, CVS or ClearCase Experience with various software packaging formats RPM, PKG, LPP...
