A vacancy for a Ground Segment Tender Manager for future Earth Observation Programmes mfhas arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. Within the Bidding and Future Programmes department for ground Observation and Navigation systems, you will be responsible for one or more tenders for major Earth observation systems for Export clients. Your post may develop towards the management of ground segment projects within the Project division. This position requires security clearance or needs to be eligible for an accreditation by the recognised authorities. You must ensure the coordination of the tender, consisting of the technical and functional definition part, the drafting of the tender, the production of the quotation and the risk analysis. You will personally produce a significant proportion of the tender and you will join an extensive bidding team that may consist of a wide range of Airbus Defence and Space entities satellites, geoinformation services, etc. and major industrial partners. You must assist the tender manager in the negotiation phases with the different partners and clients, and must take account of constraints arising from the ground segment product policy and partnership agreements. This role will involve travel for business once a month, worldwide and therefore you must be able to travel accordingly. As the successful candidate you will be able to demonstrate the following experience and skills Engineering degree or equivalent Over 15 years of experience in the space systems sector with experience relating to ground resources, particularly in Earth observation systems Experience in managing complex projects with the involvement of multiple partners and subcontractors Transversal knowledge of the field of ground observation segments Mission and Image, control centres andor reception resources Good ability to summarise Good writing skills Autonomy, responsiveness and adaptability Tenacity and the ability to defend the interests of Airbus Defence Space. Ability to manage several projects at the same time Team leadership skills and the ability to delegate Ability to communicate and influence, ability to manage stakeholders and relationships with clients and external partners Negotiation level in French and English. LSE Space is looking for an experienced Engineer mf in order to fulfill the task of Data Centre Test and Products Operations Engineer at our customer EUMETSAT in DarmstadtGermany. The primary responsibilities of this role will be The key person shall support the Data Centre Operations team and will report to the Data Centre Operations Team Leader. The main tasks of the key person are Provision of support to the daily monitoring and first line support of the Data Centre, and analysis and reporting of operational anomalies. Provision of support to the user queries received by the user service helpdesk regarding Data Centre services. Support to the development of Data Centre tools for monitoring and reporting. Provision of support to prototyping concepts for evolving the Data Centre services to support current and future EUMETSAT programmes. Provision of support to the test automation of the Data Centre evolutions. Provision of support to the development of new formats for the Archive data. Provision of support to metadata content and their specification in the new formats. Preparation and maintenance of Data Centre documentation such as operational procedures and service guides for users. Preparation of material to support the usage of Data Centre services. Requirements Experience of working in an operations environment supporting the analysis of system and user support issues. Good knowledge of the testing and test automation for a complex hardware and software system. Experience of working with Earth Observation data formats, their visualisation and processing. Programming experience in Java language, UNIX environment, scripting in Shell and Perl. Technical knowledge for specification, validation and transformation using XMLXSDXLT and their associated tools. Experience in using SQL to access relational databases such as Oracle. Experience of handling and manipulating binary data. Practical knowledge of the following will be a distinct advantage Experience in the development of the product formats, ideally netCDF and HDF. Good knowledge of standards, conventions and guidelines for the specification of metadata for Earth Observation data, for example Climate and Forecast Conventions. Experience with Meteorological data formats such as McIDAS, GeoTiff, BUFR and GRIB. Experience with using Data Access tools such as IDV, MATLAB, IDL and THREDDS. Knowledge of the SubVersion source code control systems. Knowledge of Software Development Environments such as the Eclipse. Knowledge of the QFS Test automation software. Academic and work related requirements A University degree in engineering, physics, or software domains is required. Perfect command of English, verbal and written.
