Assistant Configuration Officer

Aurora has the opportunity to expand our support to ESA in the domain of Business Management, Controlling Administration in the Directorate of Human and Robotic Exploration Programmes DHRE. Overview The Assistant Configuration Officer covers both ESA internal activities and activities performed by Industrial Contractors. Tasks and Activities include The preparation of adequate requirements and CM systems auditing. Establishing adequate processes for proper Product configuration control. Configuration management planning. Configuration items identification, technical requirements base lining, production and maintenance of configuration item data list CIDL. Management of configuration evolution, baselines verification, asbuilt control and inspections. Establishment of Establishment of configuration control methods, procedures and standards. Establishing andor assuring that adequate configuration control methods, procedures and standards are established andor maintained, consistent with applicable standardsrequirements. Preparing formal requirements for inclusion in industrial contracts. Participating in Project Reviews. Conducting configuration audits and configuration inspections. Supervising the processing and disposition of Change Requests andor Change Proposals. Providing status data and maintaining a wellstructured record system acting as secretary to appropriate Boards established for the processing of changes. Establishing and maintaining the approval system for all documents under formal ESA control, and maintaining the associated DRLs and DRDs. Supporting the supervision and maintenance of the documentation library and archives. Proposing automated methods and tools required to increase performance of configuration and documentation control tasks. Specific qualification requirements A Bachelor Degree and at least 2 year working experience. Good organisation skills. Previous experience in the processing of technical documentation and a technicalscientific background would be an asset. Experience in international environments. Autonomy in the execution of tasks and ability to manage workload and identifying priorities ability to cope with pressure, meet deadlines and deliver on time. Fluent in English, knowledge of another Member State language is an asset. Able to work autonomously and with initiative whilst remaining a teamplayer. Customer oriented behaviour and rigorous work approach. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line with ESA Job Class. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included. Aurora assist with relocation both with support and financially. Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Technical and Logistic Support to the Directorate of the Galileo Programme and Navigationrelated Activities at ESAESTEC, you will have the following responsibilities Product Configuration support Analyse and contribute to the specification of relevant processes for Segment and System CI identification, verification and control in support of NAV engineering activities Support implementation and maintain programmatic, contractual and technical Baselines Contribute to the generation of product documents such as Product Tree, CIDL, ABCL, CSAR and CSR Configuration Status Report Followup and document product configuration evolutions from ascontracted, asdesigned, asdeveloped, as delivered, asdeployed, asinstalled to asoperated Perform configuration audits, inspections and CI identification Configure, operate, report from and improve CM databases. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Master in Engineering or equivalent university degree from a recognised Institution of secondary studies At least 4 years of relevant experience in Configuration Management High level of autonomy and proactiveness Excellent communication skills and professional maturity that is required to carry out complex tasks and high level of responsibility Eligibility to national personal security clearance relevant to ESA NAV programmes Availability for occasional duty travel Office productivity PC desktop, laptops, mainly in a MS Windows based application environment such as Office 365, in particular good knowledge in MS Excel Expertise in applying and configuring at least one PLM, asset management or CM process relevant tool such as Windchill, Jira, SAP, Eclipse, Hardcat, WAND, ClearCaseClearQuest Expertise in applying at least two CM process relevant standards such as ECSSMST40C, NASA IVV10, CMII100, ITIL, SAE EIA649, DODSTD, MILSTD, ISO 10007, IEEE Std828, SEICMMI Knowledge of industrial product data representation such as ISO 10303 Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
