Cotton yarn prices have begun more clearly declining in China, in line with a lack of demand from downward textile and apparel producers, now reluctant in buying yarns ahead of additional US sanctions over Chinese imports. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

Polyester Fiber Prices in China, India and Pakistan (Weekly Report)

Polyester fiber prices could now stabilize in China after heavily falling in the past two weeks. The rebound of PTA prices may force fiber producers in reducing their operating rates in order to support market prices. PSF prices have begun suddenly sliding in the meantime in Pakistan, after having previously reached record levels. Our weekly report covers the Polyester Staple Fiber (PSF) on the domestic markets in China, India, and Pakistan. Polyester and viscose fiber prices have dropped from their record levels. Spun yarn prices have stayed very firm in the past days on India's domestic market whereas cotton yarn export prices were further falling by contrast. Demand from China could now be depressed, in line with the low level of textile production currently in this country. Our review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester and 100% viscose. Yarn prices are compared with fiber prices offering latest trends of spinners' margins. Market fundamentals are available on a monthly basis, including production and exports.

Polyester Chain Prices: PX, PTA, MEG and Fiber Prices (Weekly Report)

Polyester chain prices have continued plunging in the past seven days with operating rates being sharply reduced at PTA plants in order to limit the fall of prices which have consecutively bottomed out today in China. Polyester fiber prices have continued significantly dropping in the meantime. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices.
