Support the Project for performance related issues Following of Industrys work on ground processing and algorithms, Evaluation of Industrys mission error budgets and modelling, Translation of instrument characteristics to mission level, Review the Flight Operation Manuals for relevant volumessections. Support the CALVAL campaign Support the revision of the CalVal plan, Support the preparation phase, Support the CalVal after Launch. Support the Project in general terms Support the Project Scientist, Support the system verification process, Attend weekly team meetings, Report to the team and flag potential issues. Required Skills and Experience University degree or equivalent qualification in Physics or Engineering. Extended knowledge of the Earth Observation payload data ground segment, including processes such as calibration, monitoring routine data processing processors and facilities interactions with other stakeholders FOS, end users. Extended knowledge of data analysisprocessing statistics, error budgets simulations data tools such as Matlab. Working knowledge on remote sensing techniques, with a focus on optical systems transmissions, backscatter, extinction processing algorithms detectors. Good knowledge of computer environment Linux, GNU compilers, Matlab, scripting such as python, shell scripts, perl.... Fluent in the English language spoken and written Desirable Skills and Experience Affinity with numerical weather prediction is an advantage. Good level of autonomy and organizing skills are desired. Knowledge of other languages is an asset. The mission You will be mainly providing engineering support, to the EPSSG Ground Segment Technical Manager in the frame of the EPSSG Preparatory Programme Phase B. As a member of the Ground Segment GS team, you shall provide support to the EPSSG Ground Segment requirements analysis, architecture design and requirement implementation of the Ground Segment networks system as part of the EPSSG System. The duties range from the analysis, design, installation, and testing of the communications networks system. This may include support to the procurement of hardware and software, and the coordination with external service providers. The tasks will nominally cover the entire development lifecycle. In particular during the initial phase the tasks will include Support to Ground Segment requirements engineering analysis, validation, allocation and maintenance Assistance to the definition of the ground segment interfaces Definition of EPSSG GS Network requirements Support to Ground Segment design architecture definition, including analyses, tradeoffs and compilation of technical budgets Establishing the overall EPSSG GS Network Design Identification of areas of risk and contributing to any related trade off studies or prototyping activities Support to Ground segment reviews Requirements Review and Preliminary Design Review Participation in reviews and meetings at system, ground segment and facility level.
