ispace Europe is seeking a highly motivated and talented data scientist developer for a Postdoctoral Research Position in collaboration with the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology LIST. Research Description The researcher will apply the latest data modeling and visualisation techniques to build the first intelligent tool suite for helping lunar mission scientists and engineers process, analyse, and interpret resource data collected from both orbital and surficial exploration missions to the Moon. The researcher is expected to exhibit a crossfunctional mindset, intellectual curiosity, willingness to bridge gaps, and understanding of the system two levels up and two levels down. The candidate must be selfdriven, continuously selfimproving, and proud of herhis work. Duties Work with the ispace Europe and LIST to conceive, design and implement the first set of scalable tools for planning lunar missions Work with the ispace mission scientist, resource engineer, and data architect to understand the customer needs, define product features, and roadmap Collaborate with LIST Environmental Informatics group to apply latest geocomputation, data visualisation, augmentedvirtual reality, and artificial intelligence techniques Test, verify and validate all your products, collect and analyze user feedback, iterate Research and stay up to date with state of the art tools and data processing methods used in the planetary science, terrestrial mining, remote sensing, and media industry Required Skills and Qualifications PhD in computer sciences, engineering or related field Excellent coding and debugging skills Knowledge or ability to quickly ramp up with machine learning, deep learning and data science Exhibit strong intellectual curiosity about the science, engineering, and business disciplines adjacent to your domain of expertise Be highly organized and capable of planning and executing complex technical work Thrive in multidisciplinary environment in close cooperation with science, engineering and business teams Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Show initiative, leadership, and positive cando attitude Be comfortable with change and fastpaced environment Preferred Experience Experience in geospatialplanetary data processing and products is highly desirable Knowledge on OpenCV is a plus About ispace ispace is a private lunar exploration company whose vision is to expand and sustain humanitys presence in space by utilizing resources available on the Moon. ispace was a Google Lunar XPRIZE finalist and its 4kg SORATO rover won the XPRIZE mobility milestone award. As a result LISTs researchers design, implement and evaluate innovative ICT methods and tools that contribute to a more sustainable future that not only protects environment but do so while also promoting socioeconomic welfare. Extensive research and development has resulted in a range of innovative ICT tools that are designed to help the public, practitioners and scientists tackle todays environmental challenges. The unit has a diverse portfolio of projects funded under various competitive calls at national and international level EU H2020, EU INTERREG, ESA, FNR, ANR, FWF, and NASA. Researchers are also involved in collaborative projects with industry. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the projects, the staff members have developed a solid experience in working with people with various backgrounds from business and academia. The staff members manage a Mixed Reality Lab, equipped with stateofart augmented and virtual reality systems. They also have access to the LISTs High Performance Computer HPC. At the end of 2018, a new large visualisation wall will also be available to support our activities.

Aurora is an established supplier of skilled manpower to ESA and in particular at ESTEC and ESAC. Aurora has the opportunity to expand our support within ESAC. Overview Good testing is essential for smooth operations hence it is an integral and important part of the Space Operations Center SOC development. The SOC System Engineer shall support the System Testing Activities and the tasks include Construct test, verification and validation plans and procedures for SOC systemssubsystems, for the SOC overall and for all interfaces to SOC. Organisation of Test Readiness Reviews TRRs Test Review Boards TRBs. Contribute to procedure writing and the implementation of those procedures. Test procedures and operate SOC testintegration systems. Test SOC systems for the daily processing. Test SOC systems for the generation of products to send to MOC. Test SOC interfaces. Coordinate Subsystem Test execution in collaboration with all parties involved. Generate test reports and requirements coverage by testing. Maintain the overall test procedures and test logbook. Gather operational constraints for software running at SOC. Assist in automation of SOC procedures nominally SOC will only be manned normal working hours. Provide general support for testing, particularly for EndtoEnd E2E and operational rehearsal campaigns. Report on activities including the gathering and presentation of test coverage summary statistics. Attending meetingsconferenceworkshops and make presentations as requested. Interact appropriately with and support the providers of all software SOC systems. Interact appropriately with the users of data products. Cooperate with other projects on testing matters e.g. promote the exchange of information with other SGS. Specific qualification requirements A University degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or in equivalent relevant fields. At least 4 years of relevant working experience. Strong experience with Test Management and System Level Testing. Strong experience with Operations and Operations Preparation within the Scientific Ground Segment. Strong experience with working with AGILE and DevOps methodologies. Working experience with Java, C, Shell, Ruby Perl, Python. Strong experience with working with ESA Standards. A high level of written and spoken English is essential. Fluency in Spanish also desirable. Excellent organisation skills for projects execution and associated documentation. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in Spain without the need to obtain a work visa. Only European Union EU, European Economic Area EEA and SWISScitizens can be employed by Aurora in Spain. Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. In line with ESAs security requirements, prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident, and Aurora will validate your employment history. Location It is expected that the work will be performed at the ESAC, the European Space Astronomy Centre at Villafranca del Castillo, near Madrid Spain. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line withESA Job Class. You will be registered for both social security and tax in Spain. The standard working hours are 40 per week.
