Space Satellite Quality Assurance Engineer Our client is one of the leading satellite manufacturers in Europe, boasting sole primary responsibility over some of ESAs European Space Agencys space programs. Please note, the site is based just south of Munich, Germany and the spoken language on site is English. The client are currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer who is able to provide QA expertise, having come from a similar position before. The successful candidates will have worked in the space and satellite industry for a minimum of four years and will likely have double that in Quality Assurance experience. Ground Segment Quality Assurance Engineer

This is an opportunity for a a university graduated engineer, with at least 5 years experience in the ProductQuality Assurance area in AerospaceSpace Programmes to support our customer in the quality assurance of the MTG programme. This position is full time and unlimited and fully based on customer side in EUMETSAT, Darmstadt, Germany. The position will start earliest November 2015. Submission deadline for applicants is 7thth of September 2015. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES The Key Person will be part of the MTG QA Team which provides support to the MTG Programme. Herhis tasks will be allocated in support of the MTG Ground Segment activities, including Ground Segment and System IVV, monitoring of IVV QA related activities and witnessing tests of facilities, in accordance with the plan and priorities assigned by the GEO QA Manager and the MTG GS QA Engineer. In this framework, the main tasks of the Key Person will include the following Implement EUMETSAT QA policies in the assigned areas, keep in accordance with the MTG System QA plan and all relevant applicable Standards, Technical and QA documents, Procedures and Working Practices WPs that are applicable to the ongoing projects phases Ensure that MTG processes involved with the assigned tasks are implemented in accordance with their relevant QA working practices and procedures Support maintenance of GEO WPs and procedures Suggest and support implementation of as agreed improvements to the available QA documentation, aiming at process efficiency and synergy Support the establishment of metrics to measure the effectiveness of the main processes within the assigned areas. Provide proactive suggestions for process improvement, based on these metrics and other observations Work with and in support of the MTG Teams, in order to ensure that Quality Assurance policies and methods are taken into account during all phases Contribute to the production of the documents relevant to the performed tasks Critically review technical and management documents issued in support to the MTG Ground Segment and System IVV activities Support, acting when required as Review secretary, the Programme Reviews and Check Points planned for the MTG programme, ensuring that the relevant Organisation Note arrangements are correctly implemented, and that the Review support tool to be used for the Reviews is available Support the MTG GS Facilities procurement activities and the connected processes ensuring that the QA requirements related to IVV are implemented correctly Monitor implementation of the agreed QA Plans and procedures within the Industry and others Organisations ESA activities, including their Subtiers Provide specific QA support to the MTG IVV Integration, Verification, Validation activities focussed on MTG GS, including witnessing of tests, review of verification records, support TRRTRB, ARB and other relevant IVV related processes according to the applicable working practices Coordinate the anomaly and nonconformances reviews process in the assigned areas If so required and agreed support the preparation and conduct of QA audits on Industry and within EUMETSAT in the areas connected with MTG GS activities, in line with the MTG GS Contractors Suppliers Quality Assurance Audit Plan Provide regular reporting to the MTG QA Management and to the MTG Management Attend and support the weekly GEO QA Team coordination meetings. QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE A University degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Sciences or a related discipline is required. The Key Person shall have at least 5 years of specific work experience in the ProductQuality Assurance area in AerospaceSpace Programmes, and have good interpersonal and mediation skills. Specific experience on PAQA processes on satellite Ground Segments, satellite Mission Control and Operations, and on Satellite data processing will be considered an advantage. Candidates having matured significant work experience in other fields, on complex products with elevated technical contents will also be considered. ESSENTIAL SKILLS For the fulfilment of the tasks listed above , candidates shall be in possession of the following mandatory skills Significant handson experience in PAQA processes definition, implementation and effectiveness monitoring Knowledge and application of aerospacespace PAQA and ISO 9001 standards Multiyear experience in the implementation of QA policies and methods in procurement contracts for complex products such as ground segment systems Experience in providing QA support to complex SW products throughout their complete development lifecycle, following Software QA standards Experience on Hardware HW Software SW products integration and verification Capability of understanding technicalities and design methods in the area of satellite ground segment , operations, mission control and data processing Significant handson experience in using Microsoft Office Suite and in particular with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access Capability of producing and releasing in autonomy minutes of meetings and QA reports Experience in application of risk management and lessons learned processes Good interpersonal and mediation skills. Software Quality Assurance Engineer

One of our Space Clients in Germany is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer. This is a Consultancy Support position. The role would ideally suit a contractor looking for a long term consultancy role within the space industry. The submission deadline for applicants is September 21st 2015. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Compile, via dedicated workshops, the current information about TSS SW development and maintenance activities. Generate a proposed SW Quality Model based on SQUALE or equivalent. The model shall allow tailoring for the different SW applications based on their SW quality characteristics. Based on the derived SW quality model design, install, configure and maintain a system based on SonarQube or equivalent for extracting quality metrics and indicators, and generate reports about the SW Quality. The system shall include all necessary plugins and tools to support the SW quality analysis of the main languages used in TSS SW developmentsapplications i.e. CC, Java FORTRAN. A virtual machine will be provided for hosting the system. Define a general testing strategy for the system being able to extract testing quality metrics from the TSS SW developments and applications. Evaluate and propose a tool or a set of tools for checking SW with a special focus on licensing issues e.g. contamination due to use of GPL licenses, preferable to be integrated within the system described in task 2. Support in the definition of possible manual metrics, not directly derived from source code, to better characterise the analysed code and to be included in the system. Skills and Experience System Engineering and SW Development disciplines. SW Quality and SQALE model or similar model. SonarQube and its different plugins or similar tool. Static code analysis for different languages. Versioning systems, especially SVN and GIT. Automated Testing, Continuous Integration, Deployment and Delivery. Documentation of SW applications. MS Office tools for documentation purposes e.g. MS Word. Good computing skills. Familiarity with other SW Quality metrication tools and plugins will be an advantage. Qualifications University degree in a relevant discipline. Good English skills are essential.
