Junior Quality Assurance Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities For our customer in the Lake Constance area of Germany, we seek a Quality Assurance Engineer with background in materials and processes. The main responsibility of this position is to monitor the conformance of raw materials properties with the specifications and to process any detected deviations Ensure that raw materials, processing techniques and productive resources conform with quality and construction requirements Apply a high level of materials and processing knowledge to promote the efficiency, reliability and reproducibility of both processes and end products Conduct failure analysis of raw materials and processes Qualify processing techniques Monitor material acceptance. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Degree in measurement and evaluation, automisation, aerospace, for instance, from a polytechnic Fachhochschule. A qualification as a registered technician staatlich geprfter Techniker would also be valid Experience in electrical mechanical measurement techniques would be an advantage Experience in measurement automisation is desireable Quality related experience is desirable Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is desirable Fluent English is required. You will ensure the proper implementation of the quality assurance rules and that company industrial processes comply with quality assurance requirements and standards. You will validate the product inspection plan and handle product non conformity up to the productservice delivery to the customer. Quality Assurance process improvement and deployment assess current process, propose improvements, lead pilots, coach and train other QA staff on improved processes, monitor deployment. Good understanding of Manufacturing processes. A good understanding of Spacecraft Manufacture and build philosophies Ability to understand and embrace quality improvement initiatives. Quality Assurance engineer We are looking to further enhance our team by adding a Quality Assurance engineer on EPSSG You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Your Tasks Include The EPSSG QA consultant will be part of the EPSSG QA Team that provides support to the EPSSG Programme. More particularly the EPSSG QA consultant will be integrated into the EPSSG Ground Segment team to perform QA activities related the EPSSG Ground Segment. The tasks of the EPSSG Ground Segment QA consultant shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following Implement Client QA policies in the assigned areas, in accordance with the Programme specific QA plan for all phases covered by this SoW and the relevant contract, more specifically Implement the EPSSG QA plan for the management of the Ground Segment activities, and update it as required Define QA procedures for Ground Segment Phase CD, and contribute to updates of Ground Segment management and development plans Ensure the correct implementation of the relevant processes in the area of the Ground Segment. Ensure that the baseline definition of the ground segment remains under control including management of Change Requests, Change Proposals, Requests for Waiver Deviation, preparation of Change Control Board meetings, etc. Manage and support the Anomalies Review Board ARB and Nonconformances Review Board NRB Analyze and report to the QA LEO Manager and to the Ground Segment Manager on QA critical issues, proposing and following up preventive and recovery actions. Provide QA support for the Ground Segment Risk Management activities in conformance with the Risk Management Plan, organizing risk sessions, maintaining the GS Risk Register, following up associated actions and proposing updates to the Risk Management Plan as necessary. Support the regular monitoring of established metrics on the main processes within the EPSSG Ground Segment Follow the development of the Ground Segment subsegments, liaising with the Ground Segment suppliers QA office, agreeing QA processes, reviewing QA aspects of deliveries, attending progress meetings as relevant and identifying areas of concern pertaining to QA. Review and contribute to as required, from a QA perspective, documents produced by Client contractors and by the EPSSG Ground Segment team Organize project reviews related to the EPSSG Ground Segment according to the prescribed processes, also acting as Review Secretary as required. Organize and perform QA audits in liaison with the LEO QA team, the Ground Segment team and Client suppliers, as required. Maintain, as necessary, the EPSSG Ground Segment QA. Provide QA support for the implementation of Configuration Management processes. Your Profile The consultant is required to have the experience and capability to fulfill the assigned tasks in autonomy and with the minimum level of supervision. The consultant shall have, as a pre requisite, a background of at least 5 years in space systems with focus on ground segment area, with at least 3 years of experience in project QA positions. The consultant should have a university degree technical knowledge in the areas mentioned above will be an asset. In detail, the consultant is expected to demonstrate Sound handson experience in QA processes definition, implementation, monitoring and control Sound handson experience in risks management and lessons learned processes Sound experience in a rational application of international quality standards Good knowledge of ECSS standards Sound handson experience in managing, reporting and followingup of procured items Knowledge of project management and project planning, including the ability to identify and report on critical paths Some knowledge of requirements management tools, e.g. DOORS Ability to draft management reports and executive summaries in English Sound handson experience of working on collaborative programmes between different partners Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Access Good interpersonal skills, including mediation skills Very good attitude to team working. The official languages are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore consultant must be able to work effectively in this language knowledge of French would be an asset.
