Satellite Imagery Production Manager

Position Reference 1016 RHEA is an international system engineering Group active in Space Cybersecurity solutions services. Building on a systematic growth achieved in size and credibility over the last decade, RHEA has established in 2020 a new subsidiary in Luxembourg in order to enlarge from within Luxembourg its impact and sustainable position visvis national international institutions and commercial clients, leveraging the competences of the Group, in line with Luxembourg space cybersecurity strategies. In particular, RHEA System Luxembourg S.A. focuses on creating new recurring endtoend and integrated services in satellite and cybersecurity engineering and has decided to establish innovative responsive Satellite Operations services in Luxembourg for addressing both governmental and commercial stakeholders. We are then building, with partners, a brandnew Mission Control Centre in the heart of Luxembourg City to operate entire satellite systems and missions. In this context, we are currently looking for a Satellite Imagery Production Manager to work in the Earth Observation segment of that Mission Control Centre such segment being responsible endtoend for the imagesrequests management, production, validation and distribution of processed satellite images to the users. The key person will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and strong team working in all the preparation activities and the routine operations of the mission in close coordination with the overall Mission Operations Centre and in full compliance with the customers needs. The Production Manager will be responsible for quality of satellite imagery services to the internal and external stakeholders, and will be comanaging a team of 6 people, ensuring the 247 availability of the system and responsible for the correct dispatching of the products images to the end clientsusers. In hisher mission and daily activities, the Production Manager will be interfacing with all stakeholders of the Ground Control Centre, the Mission Operations Centre and its Payload Ground Control Centre. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Ensure Quality of Services to direct clients and end users, and 247 services resilience. Manage the nominal and highlevel production of images and verify the correct execution of all process treatments. Define, perform anticipate contingency procedures to resume nominal operations. Perform quality control of the products before distribution to the clients. Manage and monitor the cataloguing and archiving functions. Ground Operations Procedures and documentations writing, editing and control. Contribute to HWSWNetwork maintenance of Production subsystem environment. Liaise daily with the managers of the other segments of the MOC for continuous improvement and system robustness. Participate to all the preparations and acceptance activities of the Ground Control Segment, such as Commissioning phase and InOrbit Qualification Team training attendance and organization. Manage and lead the team of satellite imagery operators. Provide oncall support whenif required. Skills and Experience Senior Engineer, Informatics Degree or equivalent. Operational knowledge of satellite system and of procedures for user service requests management and programming functions. Advanced knowledge and working experience of Earth Observation systems. Operational knowledge for working with operational customers. Good level of written and spoken English, any other EU language would be appreciated. 23 years of experience in the Images Processing Procedures. Excellent teamwork spirit and crossfunctional cooperation whenever needed. Proven experience in team and people management in an operational context. Team spirit, information sharing and empowerment behaviour. Motivated and willing to learn new skills and competences. Able to work in an operational and commercial context. The Satellite Imagery Operator will be a member of the team ensuring the 247 availability of the system and responsible for the correct dispatching of the products images to the end clientsusers. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Participating in all the preoperational activities, i.e., commissioning phase, IOT, E2E System Commissioning and Operational Qualification, including training attendance. Participating in the routine operations phase for the duration of the mission with duties of Generation, acceptance and validation of the requests for Image coming from the usersclients Manage the dissemination of the products images to the usersclients using a protected data network or exceptionally via USB support Define the priority plan for the daily activities in coordination with the Payload Operator at the Ground site Manage the request for a new image, together with validation and monitoring Maintain the Image Database up to date and contribute to HWSWNetwork maintenance of Ground Control segment Ground Operations Procedure and documentation writing, editing and control. Additional tasks inside of the Ground Control Centre activities will cover the following assignments in routine phase Act as the Coordinator out of normal working hours and on weekends Take over Production activities after Product Manager outside of routine working hours Assist the Image Analyst in performing complementary Operational Quality Checks and take over hisher responsibilities when out of working hours. Skills and Experience Senior Technician, Technical School Informatics diploma or equivalent andor above. Operational knowledge of the Ground Segment and space system management procedures, in particular for the management and interfaces of the following Usersclients Request for Image Service requests management Programming functions Delivery using FTP functions . Advanced knowledge and working experience of Earth Observation systems. Operational knowledge for working with operational customers. Good level of written and spoken English, any other EU language would be appreciated. 23 years of experience in a 247 working environment desirable. Excellent teamwork spirit and crossfunctional cooperation whenever needed. Motivated and willing to learn new skills and competences. Able to work in an operational and commercial context. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for validating and performing all activities related to the calibration of the system, both onground and inorbit, and to the validation of the satellite images produced. In hisher role, the Quality Engineer will be interfacing with the Satellite Imagery operations team, the Mission Operation Centre and its Payload Ground Control Centre, ensuring the quality and timeliness of the products. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Execute all activities related to the validation and calibration of the system, as well as performing offline analysis and statistics, and to the quality of the products. Manage and keep up to date the onground and onboard calibration parameters and the Ground Calibration database. Generate the calibration and validation Request For Image according to the mission plan and verify that all activities have been correctly executed. Perform Image analysis calibration, quality and validation. Contribute to the HWSWNetwork maintenance of the Ground Control Centre and to documentation writing, editing and control. Liaise with the satellite platform and payload engineering operations teams as required for ensuring the targeted products Quality. Participate to all the preparations and acceptance activities of the Ground Control Segment, such as Commissioning phase and InOrbit Qualification, including training attendance. Provide oncall support whenif required. Skills and Experience Junior Engineer, ElectroOptical Degree or equivalent. Operational knowledge of Optical Products Analysis and quality process. Advanced knowledge and working experience of Earth Observation systems. Operational knowledge for working with operational customers. Good level of written and spoken English, any other EU language would be appreciated. 23 years of experience in the Images Processing Procedures. Experience of commissioning phase and endtoend system testing would be appreciated. Excellent teamwork spirit and crossfunctional cooperation whenever needed. Motivated and willing to learn new skills and competences. Able to work in an operational and commercial context. Positive, focused and learning mindset. EU citizenship is mandatory. Spacecraft Operations Engineer Geostationary Satellite Systems

Thorn SDS is a part of the consortia currently providing spacecraft engineering services to EUMETSAT, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites. We are searching for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to complement our team in Germany. Candidates must be excellent communicators in English with a passion for the Space Industry. The responsibilities of the service include the routine and special operations of operational METEOSAT spacecraft, continuous monitoring of spacecraft performance and the operations preparation of the next generation of geostationary spacecraft. In addition to a relevant university degree, team members are expected to have expertise across one or more subsystems METEOSAT, MTG or similar EO Payload would be ideal, thermal, power, TTC, knowledge of python programming and able to work seamlessly together with the rest of the team to ensure a level of competence is always available. Experience of Spacecraft Operations or Spacecraft Operations Preparation, preferably on Geostationary Earth Orbit GOE would be considered advantageous. The role will develop with the phases of the missions, so we are looking for engineers who can demonstrate initiative and flexibility in a fast paced environment. With experience of the full life cycle of spacecraft flight procedures, you must have carried out validation and testing, with relevant experience of low Earth orbit satellite operations. You will have worked on anomaly investigations and have developed appropriate programming skills. Juggling tasks and making the most of the resources available to you will be essential in this role. You will work with colleagues and partners, so you must be a team player with an ability to communicate complex ideas in a concise way.
