Satellite System Engineer

In the frame of Small Satellites Design Development activites, SITAEL is looking for a Satellite System Engineer, with midlevel experience 25 years in the field of Space Engineering, preferably at system level. The Satellite System Engineer will directly report to Space Systems Division Manager and to the assigned Project Technical Manager. The main tasks will be Responsibility of System Engineering task and coordination of technical areas subsystems referring to the product i.e. satelliteplatform Responsibility of system level architecture both functional and physical Together with Mission Analyst, define the implications of Mission Rerquirements on Satellite Design Support the Technical Manager in overall system design authority tasks Guarantee the proper interfaces among satellite subsystems Perform system level analysis and reporting i.e. technical budgets Manage the main external IF Launcher, Ground segment, Payloads Prepare system level documentation requirements, design descriptionjustification Requirements management i.e. DOORS It is required Aerospace Engineering 5y Master Degree At least 2 years of experience in Space Engineering, ideally Space Systems Engineering Good knowledge of Satellite Design and its subsystemsfunctions GoodBasic knowledge of Space Mission Design Analysis Capability of performing technical coordination Good knwoledge of satellite lifecycle and System Engineering methods and tools requirement management, tradeoff studies, Sys ML Very good knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, MS VISIO, DOORS, Matlab Simulink Very good knowledge of English and preferably also French.

Working as a consultant system engineer on the design and implementation of a complex space system project for one of Europes flagship space projects for the 21st century. The System Engineering team handles the complex task of stitching together major functional elements and ensuring endtoend performance with large volumes of data flow. Working to established standards and procedures ECSS and using advanced tools for management of complex systems DOORS, consultants will be responsible for defining and controlling interfaces between functional elements, verifying that high level system requirements are flowed down and implemented correctly, system design integrity is maintained and optimised throughout the development process. The profile of candidate we are seeking is as follows University degree in the domain of engineering, science, or equivalent. At least 5 years of experience in the field of engineering of space andor ground system. Experience of large space systems space andor ground segment. Experience of interface management and definition. Familiarity with mechanisms and tools for detailed interface definition. Demonstrated capability to prepare and manage IRD and ICD. Additionally, experience in the following would be considered an advantage Experience in the area of LowEarth Orbiting satellites LEO. Experience in CORE design tool from Vitech. Experience with DOORs. The tasks and responsibilities of the successful candidate to be undertaken during the EPSSG Phase CD will typically include the following Coordination and definition of technical interfaces with the external partners and service providers Organisehold meetings and workshops with external and major internal interface partners to establish interface detailsagreements Maintain Interface Requirement Documents IRDs for all system interfaces using DOORs. Identify the mechanisms to be used for detailed ICD definition eg use of XML etc Generate and maintain the system Interface Control Documents ICD. Provide support to general system engineering activities Analysis and trade off activities Preparation and maintenance of system technical specification, documentation of system design and justification, ad hoc internal reviews, support to progress meetings, support IVV activities We are seeking employees who are motivated and flexible who are available to start work in Germany in Mid2017.
