Our client is seeking a Product Processing Integration Engineer to support the Routine Operations phases of the Meteosat Second Generation MSG, Meteosat Transition MTP and Polar System EPS Programs. The successful candidate shall work in the Real time Services and System Operations RSO of the Operations and Services to Users Department as a member of the Data Processing Operations DPO Team supporting the operations of the MSG, MTP and EPS data processing systems. Typical tasks and responsibilities will include supporting routine operations involving the MSG, MTP and EPS data processing systems, including Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the MSG, MTP and EPS data processing systems and the quality and availability of the MSG and MTP Level 1 and Level 2 products and EPS Level 0 to Level 2 products investigating anomalies relating to the performance of the MSG, MTP and EPS data processing systems and the quality and availability of the MSG and MTP Level 1 and Level 2 and EPS Level 0 to Level 2 productspreparing and reviewing technical documentation relating to data processing operationsproviding Standby callout supportsupporting the further development of the MSG and EPS data processing systems, including the specification and validation of system updatessupporting the operations preparations for future MSG and EPS spacecraftsupporting the preparations for Meteosat Third Generationattendance at technical meetings participation in formal reviews. All applicants should have demonstrated experience in the field of Meteorological Satellite product handling with exposure to UserSystem requirements definition and validation in a satellite data environment along with experience in the realtime acquisition, Level 0 processing and Level 1 processing of data andor Level 2 processing of data from imaging andor sounding instruments on remote sensing spacecraft and with UNIXLinux operating systems along with significant experience of validating complex remote sensing data processing systems. Experience and knowledge in the following areas would be an advantage imaging and sounding instrumentation for remote sensing spacecraft programming Languages e.g. C, C and Fortran scripting Languages e.g. Perl, Python, shell Spacecraft andor ground segment operations geophysical remote sensing data processing, e.g. Image Navigation and Registration INR, radiometric correction, calibration algorithms and retrieval of geophysical All candidates must have a University or similar degree in a relevant discipline and be fluent in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of French would be an advantage.
