This could be your field of responsibility Act as single point of contact to customer TASF ESA contractor OHB regarding the Electrical Power Subsystem EPS engineering at MTGS satellite level Coordinate EPS performance and IF commonality between MTGS and MTGI satellites Continue finalise MTGS satellite level EPS design based on Phase B2 results and BDR PDR findings and recommendations Maintain update the EPS design documentation as part of the overall MTGS Satellite Technical Description Maintain update the EPS design justification as part of the MTGS Satellite Design Justification Document Maintain the detailed power and energy budget at MTGS satellite level to demonstrate system viability during all mission phases including Demonstrate adequacy of MTGS EPS architecture by analysis simulation Maintain update the voltage drop analysis based on simulations to ensure that the selected EPS design will meet the requirements regarding voltage drops in power harnesses and interfaces Perform the verification programme for the integrated EPS being compliant with the agreed Subsystem Verification and Test Plan Your profile requires Graduate in electrical engineering or similar Experience as an engineer in space flight in the area of electrical satellite systems Good skills in spoken and written English Permission to work in the European Union. For the location in Darmstadt, Germany we are looking for an MTG Monitoring Control Subsystem Engineer fm at Eumetsat. Tasks Consultancy support for a satellite Monitoring Control Subsystem MCS Engineer is required as part of the MTG ground segment team. The key person will be organisationally based in the Geostationary Orbit GEO Division as a member of the Mission Operations System team. The Key Person shall perform the following tasks Support to the maintenance of MTG Mission Operations Facility requirement specification in the area of Monitoring Control System and liaison with the operational users for the definition of the requirements baseline Follow up the MTG MCS procurement to make sure that the delivery fits the intended purpose Support the MTG ground segment team, the Mission Operations Facility manager and the ground segment manager Interact with suppliers and partner organisations. Participation to the Reviews for the Monitoring and Control Subsystem and interfacing facilities Preparation of technical notes and attendance at technical meetings Maintenance i.e. mainly configuration and installation of the SCOS 2000 MCS demonstrator installed for familiarisation of the operations preparation team with the Mission Operations Facility MCS Analysis, review and generation of any relevant MTG documentation Maintenance and evolution of Mission Operations Facility Java Eclipse RCP RAP based tools established in the frame of Phase B At a later stage in the programme, these additional tasks may be requested Participation test conduction and or witnessing to MTG Monitoring and Control Subsystem facilities testing and related activities on facility as well as on system level Analysis of test results and test reports on facility as well as on system level in particular with respect to their suitability for requirement verification and validation Installation of the MTG Monitoring and Control Subsystem at EUMETSAT, while fulfilling the configuration management requirements Verification of correct facility installation Monitor and, where applicable, steer the lifecycle for all related anomaly reports ARs nonconformance reports NCRs Preparation and production of routine reports as necessary Essential requirements In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the key person shall have a demonstrated experience of spacecraft andor ground segment procurement. The key person shall have a goal oriented attitude with a good level of communication skills enabling working in a highly flexible integrated team. Furthermore, the key person shall have, as a prerequisite a demonstrated experience of five years in the following Mission Control Subsystem specifications development and or procurement within a space system In depth knowledge of SCOS 2000 based Monitoring and Control Subsystems The ECSS Packet Utilization Standard PUS TM TC Database design, implementation and testing SCOS 2000 based onboard software function AIV related activities test procedure generation, requirements verification and validation Eclipse RCP RAP Java, C and C UNIX operating system usage The key person shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision. The Mission Our customer is an independent intergovernmental organisation created in 1986 to establish, maintain and exploit European systems of operational meteorological satellites. The Challenge We are looking for a Software Engineer Monitoring and Control Subsystem MTG to be located at the customer site, in Darmstadt, Germany. The Software Engineer MTG would join Terma GmbHs activity as a full time employee, providing engineering support for the Meteosat Third Generation mission operation system MTG MCS, which will be based on the SCOS 2000 architecture. Typical tasks include Support the maintenance of MTG mission operations facility requirement specification in the area of monitoring and control system. Your Qualifications Applicants shall have an university degree, preferably in aerospace, electronics or physics or other suitable qualification together with some professional experience in spacecraft andor operational applications.
