Systems Communications Engineering As part of the System Engineering Group, the system communication engineer will provide RF and Digital System Payload architecture design, perform link budget and capacity analysis, define payload requirements and associated performances, and do detail analysis in support of MDA communication Payload proposals and programs. Responsibilities Communication Engineer provide both payload architecture design and RFdigital system performance analysis during life cycle of payload, from bids to the project implementation phases along with RD activities in support of payload or processes improvement. The engineer will interface with suppliers and customer and participate in the technical negotiation. Knowledge of the immerging satellite technologies is required such as flexible communications payload, digital transparent processor, DSP, Channelizer, Multiport Amplifier MPA and active antenna arrays. Capability to generate winning technical proposals base on Payload architecture that fulfil the customer requirements and provide an optimum performance cost tradeoff, with minimum risk. Provision of System Engineering Documentation System Requirements, Equipment Specifications, SOC, Verification and Validation Matrix, Design Data Packages, Systems Budgets, Test Reports. Impact Analysis of Non and Partial Compliance from Equipment Level up to Payload Level. Management and Execution of RFW and RFDs. Produce and manage ECNs as necessary. Participate in program design reviews EQSR, SRR, PDR and CDR. Produce Payload Test Plan, Test Requirement and Procedures, provide support and Interface with AIT during Payload Assembly Integration and Test. Lead and or attend TRR, TRB, DRB, and NCRs. Review and approve payload test results. Support the production of the Payload EIDP. Provide support to Spacecraft test campaign, at the SC supplier facility. Define InOrbit Test IOT plan and procedures and provide support to IOT Payload tests. Senior Engineer, Systems Engineering 2 years contract ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY This project related position will support the definition, design, development, testing and delivery of the Galileo Data Dissemination Network GDDN as well as the Public Communications Systems PSC project. In this project the incumbent will focus on defining customer needs and required functionality early in the development cycle, documenting requirements, and then proceeding with design synthesis and system validation, while considering the complete problem operations, cost and schedule, performance, training and support, test, manufacturing, and disposal. He She could also contribute to or lead other projects related to the development, implementation, and improvement of ground based services and systems. In addition, the incumbent takes an active role in the preparation of technical proposals in response to international tenders. The GDDN interconnects the two Galileo Control Centres in Italy and Germany to an extensive network of sensor stations, uplink stations and Telemetry, Tracking and Control TTC stations distributed around the world. The GDDN also provides the connectivity to the Galileo satellite test and launch facilities, security monitoring centres, network management facilities and external entities. The Public Communications Systems PSC is a satelliteterrestrial hybrid communications infrastructure for emergency communications and critical infrastructure protection, to be deployed primarily in the public and private sector in Luxembourg. The key person shall support the Comms Team, within the GSI Division, in the TSS Department. The key person will report to the Comms Team Leader Competency Area Manager for Communications Systems. The team support the full range of Comms Systems, from provision of support to new networks systems requirement and design, support of operational systems and those transitioning to operations status, and integration of legacy systems and their eventual replacement or decommissioning. The Comms Team performs the following activities Specification of customer networking needs for both LAN and WAN systems. Identification, extractioncollection, analysis consolidation of required data flows and specification of their characteristics.
