The Research, Technology Development and Innovation RTDI Project Officer assists the RTDI Project Manager and is in charge of the following tasksduties To support from an IT architectural point of view the implementation of RTDI activities encompassing the whole data life cycle in the geospatial domain To support the design, development, integration and validation of technical solutions related to the management and exploitation of very large and heterogeneous amount of data To support the deployment and maintenance of developed or procured technical solutions To support the establishment and implementation of use cases, user scenarios, demo and pilot services To support the execution of RD projects including writing of proposals, deliverables and reports To perform any other duties assigned by the RTDI Project Manager or by the Head of Capability Development Division. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Secondary education in a relevant field such as Computer Science attested by a diploma or equivalent qualification A minimum of 3 years of professional experience is required Experience in RD projects would be an asset. SKILLS AND COMPETENCES Knowledge of IT software, tools and standards covering the whole data chain with particular focus on data access, processing and security Knowledge of software development life cycle and modern software engineering methodologies Knowledge of Cloud Computing and Service Oriented Architecture paradigms Knowledge of Big Data frameworks and technologies e.g. Apache HadoopSpark for processing and analysis of complex datasets Knowledge of programming data processing e.g. Java, Python and webGIS development e.g. OpenLayers Excellent command of English and knowledge of another EU language Excellent drafting, reporting and communication skills Knowledge of Machine Learning frameworks e.g. Caffe, TensorFlow applied to image processing would be an asset Knowledge of Earth Observation EO principles and applications mainly in the Space and Security domain would be an asset Knowledge of main EO data platforms e.g. EC Copernicus DIAS, ESA TEPs and GEO GCI would be an asset Knowledge of main aspects of RD projects in the Horizon 2020 framework would be an asset Knowledge of the institutional framework of the EU preferably in the CFSP field would be an asset.
