Project Engineer Propulsion Feed System

For one of our Dutch customers active in the space industry, we are searching a Project Engineer. The company is the European market leader in ignition systems for rocket engines and delivers the igniters and turbine pump starter for the Ariane 5 and Vega launchers. Currently they are working on the development of the ignition system for the upper stage of Ariane 6 with the new developed Vinci Engine. Tasks and Responsibilities As Project Engineer you will be responsible for developing the systems and processes which are needed to qualify the ignition system and to make it ready for serial production. Further development of detail design in collaboration with the Systems Engineer. Introduce changes and formalize this in the various documents. Writing of various reports w.r.t. the design and qualification of the ignition system. Supervising production and testing of the various qualification models. The handling of nonconformances and ensure corrective and preventive solutions. Providing an accurate technical preparation for procurement of the various parts. Management of the configuration of the design in the various databases and ERP systems. Providing technical presentations and reports to support the Project Manager and Systems Engineer. Experience and Education A University degree in a relevant engineering topic. Some years of experience in design engineering of complex structures of metal parts for gas liquid systems. Fluent in English, both written and oral. Demonstrate very good communication and team working skills. Be able to work calmly under stress with a minimum of supervision. Spacecraft Propulsion Engineer Architect

A vacancy for a Spacecraft Propulsion Engineer Architect has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Design of chemical propulsion system architecture concepts. Analysis of propulsion system performance at sub system and system level for both commercial telecoms and ESA satellite programmes. You will be required to generate propulsion system specifications and perform propulsion design, performance and analysis for chemical propulsion systems. Preparation of spacecraft system test plans, test requirement preparation, verification analysis including FMECA, design verification matrices and assessing test results. Concurrent engineering with system level interfaces mainly in the structural, thermal control, integration and test, attitude control and mission analysis disciplines. You will be responsible for technical documents and presentations in support of project technical reviews. You will be the author and owner of propulsion system technical specifications Electromechanical components, pressure vessels, Design, Manufacture and Integration therefore responsible for the qualified definition and subsequent changes to it. As such you will be accountable for review and approval of the AsBuilt and its compliance with the AsDesign standard, including review and acceptance of equipmentsubsystem test results, review of end item data packs and final technical acceptance of propulsion subsystem and justification to the end satellite customer. You will be responsible to develop and implement department toolsprocess improvement strategy in conjunction with objectives defined by management. As the Work Area Manager WAM for a given project you will be responsible for Onquality, OnTime and On Cost of the propulsion subsystem. In addition you will be responsible for spacecraft flight operations monitoring. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Proven experience in Spacecraft Propulsion Design. Proven experience with Fluids System Design is mandatory. Propulsion Test Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Production Department, you will be responsible for the Approval and development of Tests for Space hardware components valves, valves assembly, and mechanical components with emphasis on Autonomous test design and independent draft and realisation of test organization Participation to test procedures creation and revision Independent test preparation and execution, including test guidance and post processing structural components with several functions and connections Verification of the test results plausibility and test results documentation, including data base processing according to the customers needs Preparation, revision and processing of test bench descriptions and maintenance timetable of test equipment Organize and conduct maintenance work at the test facility and for test equipment Feasibility studies and effort calculation for additionalspecial tests Observation and Compliance to ITARRegulations. Electric Propulsion Engineer

Mars Space is currently looking to hire two Electric Propulsion Engineers to support its ongoing electric propulsion development activities. The engineer will be responsible for the design, modelling and testing of electric propulsion technologies and especially gridded ion engines and hollow cathodes. Specifically the following tasks are required Modelling of the plasma produced by ion engines and hollow cathodes Structural and thermal modelling of these devices Definition and execution of tests aimed at validating the models Design of thruster prototypes Testing of the thruster and evaluation of the experimental results Applicants require a University degree of Bachelor, Master or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or experimental Physics. The ideal candidate has A PhD in Aerospace engineering and at least one year experience working with electric propulsion or an MSc in Aerospace engineering at least 2 years experience with electric propulsion Knowledge of plasma physics. Familiarity with vacuum systems Good technical judgement and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. The salarty for this job will be negotiable depending on qualifications and experience of the candidate.
