Job description For our customer, EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking an experienced MTG Satellite Simulator and MOF Tools Support Engineer. You will be supporting the Meteosat Third Generation MTG programme by performing the MTG preparatory activities within the ground segment team. The major task of the programme is to define the MTG ground segment including its specification, top level design and to select a procurement approach. The new development will be integrated into the existing multimission ground network infrastructure. Responsibilities Typical activities to be undertaken are Support to the maintenance of MTG Mission Operations Facility requirement specification in the area of MTG Mission Operations Facility tools and liaison with the operational users for the definition of the requirements baseline Follow up the MTG Mission Operations Facility tools procurement to make sure that the delivery fits the intended purpose Follow up the MTG Mission Operations Facility satellite simulator procurement to make sure that the delivery fits the intended purpose Support the MTG ground segment team, the Mission Operations Facility manager, the ground segment manager and the SATSIM procurement manager Interaction with suppliers and partner organisations Participation to the Reviews for the satellite simulator as well as the Mission Operations Facility tools and interfacing facilities Participation test conduction and or witnessing to MTG satellite simulator as well as the Mission Operations Facility tools testing and related activities on facility as well as on system level Analysis of test results and test reports on satellite simulator, Mission Operations Facility as well as on system level in particular with respect to their suitability for requirement verification and validation Generation of test plans procedures for in house testing Tracking the Mission Operations Facility tools test results, test reports and requirement verification status Cloning and installation of the MTG satellite simulator as well as the Mission Operations Facility tools at EUMETSAT, while fulfilling the configuration management requirements Verification of correct satellite simulator as well as Mission Operations Facility installation Monitoring and, where applicable, steering the lifecycle for all related anomaly reports ARs nonconformance reports NCRs Developing, including design, documentation, coding and testing of dedicated Mission Operations Facility tools not externally procured based on input requirement documentation. You will be supporting all activities related to three different phases in the life cycle of EUMETSAT systems. Phase B includes Architectural and Preliminary Design as well as various stages of the Detailed Design. Phase C regards the definition and development of a given programme e.g. JasonCS and phase D Integration, Verification and Validation in the area of ground segment engineering and architecture. Responsibilities Typical overall areas of responsibilities are Requirements engineering Design definition Technical analyses Technical tradeoffs for assessing dependability, effectiveness, risks, efforts and planning Planning of integration and verification, which final objective is to demonstrate that the deliverables conform to the specified requirements. In more detail, all necessary support activities will be provided in particular phases of the EUMETSAT systems life cycle, consisting of Phase B Support in refinement, management and maintenance of the GS system requirements in its Ground Segment Requirements Document, including analysis of the system level requirements, requirements tracing and justification Support in refinement and maintenance of the ground segment functional, operational and data model Support in defining the Ground Segment architecture addressing the overall design of the ground segment system and its physical elements, including the GS deployment views, and generation of the associated architectural design documentation Performing analyses architectural tradeoffs, technical budgets, design to costeffort and risk analyses to ensure completeness and coherence of the design for all aspects related to system engineering, and contribute to the GS design justification and GS Technical Budgets documents Support in the decomposition of the GS System into procurementdevelopment elements, COTS and reusable components including allocation of requirements and functions from GS system level.
