Consultancy Support on Data Processing Systems and Applications

ACS is looking for a consultancy support within the Data Processing Systems and Applications Group of the SEP Division to assist in the specification, preliminary design, procurement, integration, testing and transfer to operations of Data Processing elements for future programmes under development and the maintenance and evolution of data processing systems and applications for existing programmes. ACS has more than 30 years experience in delivering solutions for Earth Observation satellites Ground Segments. Based in Rome, Italy and in Darmstadt, Germany, we delivered systems currently in operation in 20 countries worldwide and have a long record of successful projects carried out for ESA, EUMETSAT, EMSA and many other Space Agencies and Research Centres. The consultant will provide engineering support to the EPSSG Ground Segment Data processing team in the frame of the EPSSG Preparatory Programme Phase B as well as to the Operations department in the frame of maintenance and evolution of the EPS data processing systems. The Consultant will support activities related to initially Phase B followed by phases CD of the EPSSG Programme in the area of data processing engineering. In this context attention is drawn to the mandatory nature of the programme. In Phase B Requirements engineering in DOORS for EPSSG data processing requirements. This includes review, specification and refinement of existing requirements, their uptraces to parent Ground Segment specifications, justifications and verification methods Ensure coherency of requirements with algorithms specifications Definition of ICDs between data processing elements and other GS functions Definition of Testing and Operational scenarios for data processing elements Definition of data processing concepts and tradeoffs to support requirements understanding and justification. In Phase CD Support the procurement of data processing elements by advising on technical solutions proposed by the contractor and by reviewing documentation to confirm its compliance with the requirements Support management of the requirements baseline for data processing elements Support refinement of ICDs Support testing, integration and acceptance of data processing elements In Phase E Support to maintenance activities, including characterisation of system component behaviour against required performance, proposal and implementation of system alterations including component modification to achieve required performance. Support to evolution activities, including conceptual design, requirements specification, functional modelling, system analysis, and concept development to support increased performance, rationalisation of components, and cost reduction. In addition, there will be regular involvement in the following tasks requiring interaction and coordination with other teams at System and Ground Segment level Review of System, Space Segment and Ground Segment documentation dealing with requirements, concepts, algorithms and technical analyses of relevance for data processing, including review of instrument data processing algorithms and calibration concepts defined by the Space Segment with emphasis on their implications on Ground Segment data processing concepts, interfaces and architecture Participation in formal reviews and technical meetings at System and Ground Segment level Review of documentation dealing with technical evolutions of the EUMETSAT infrastructure Mandatory Attributes, Skills and Experience A University degree or equivalent, including experience in the engineering, physics, or software or similar domains Relevant experience in preparation of requirements, design, interfaces and testing documentation for data processing systems for Earth Observation missions experience on data processing for high data rates missions will be considered an asset. Relevant experience with L1L2 processing software for Earth Observation missions, either for operationsmaintenance or specification and development. Knowledge of the requirements engineering process, including relation between requirements, ICDs, design and testing documentation. Ability to learn and develop the needed skills and knowledge to contribute to the development of EPSSG. This includes the ability to rapidly absorb, and make use of, information presented in written and oral communications in a dynamic context. Willingness to work within a multidisciplinary context in cooperation with other teams. The ability to maintain a system overview is essential. A systematic approach to work, be able to plan their work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. The capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. The working language for the position is English and therefore the person must be able to work effectively in this language. Desirable Skills and Experience Previous experience and knowledge in any of the following areas will be considered an additional asset the IBM DOORS tool or an equivalent for requirements management Knowledge of ECSS and CCSDS standards Necessary EU national or valid work permit for Germany CV in Europass format

The IT User Support Analyst is required to have as a minimum Customer focus and service orientation as well as highly effective interpersonal skills in dealing with demanding customers under high workload Knowledge of and minimum 3 years of experience in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of MS Windows 7, MS Office, MS Outlook, Visio, MS Project and Internet Explorer Experience in the installation and maintenance of mobile computing solutions e.g. VPN access, Notebooks, Remote Access, WLAN and iPhone Extensive experience in end user support in general. Experience in using a ticketing system like Remedy or HP OpenView Experience in performing user administration in MS Active Directory and MS Exchange Experience in using software distribution systems e.g. Novell ZENworks, MS SCCM Experience in maintaining users and phones in telephone systems Experience in using Videoconferencing Systems and Cisco WebEx The following knowledge shall be considered an advantage Experience in hardware installation, maintenance and troubleshooting desktop PC, notebooks, network printers, scanners Experience in a structured, ISO 9000 certified andor ITIL based information technology service environment Professional certification as MCP Windows 7 or any other professional certifications e.g. MCP MS Office, etc. Experience in providing 1st level support for SAP The working language for the position is English and therefore the consultant must be able to work effectively in this language. Human Research Support Scientist

RHEA is currently recruiting a Human Research Support Scientist to support the Human Research Unit at our clients premises in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The European Space Agency ESA organizes review and selection of human research experiments proposed by European Investigators for implementation on various platforms. After selection, the experiments are subsequently defined and prepared for execution. The scientific requirements for each individual experiment need to be captured in various documents, and subsequently adjusted according to boundary conditions during the implementation process meanwhile maintaining the scientific merit. The task to coordinate with the science team and act as a focal point within the Agency with respect to scientific aspects of the respective experiment resides with the assigned Project Scientist. The tasks of the Project Scientist require both scientific understanding and experience of the specific aspects related to human research in the ISS. The Project Scientist reports directly to the Head of the ESA Life Sciences Office.
