Aerospace engineer for SST projects

We are looking for a highly motivated AEROSPACE ENGINEER for its activities in the areas of Space Surveillance and Tracking SST and Space Traffic Management STM, including RD tasks, software development and related engineering and analysis activities. SST and STM are becoming a more and more relevant topic in the space sector due to the need to manage the traffic of the population of objects orbiting the Earth, both space debris and operational satellites, which is growing currently and is expected to increase even more dramatically due to the launch of megaconstellations. You would be integrated into GMVs SSA multidisciplinary team located across several countries, with several projects currently ongoing. In particular, you will join the team taking care of SST activities at European level and in Portugal, both for the development of SST system and the execution of studies. The concrete tasks to be performed will mostly focus on engineering activities with a strong relation with orbital mechanics, including orbit determination, collision avoidance, and SST studies. HeShe will provide systemengineering expertise services for the MMEs upgrades within EUMETSAT. The System Engineer shall contribute to the ground segments requirements analysis, MME services definitions, MME architectural design, requirements implementation, testing, verification, and validation of the MME parts of futureto be upgraded Ground Segments and provide support expertise to the Ground Segments integration, verification and validation. Knowledge of space and ground system engineering processes, and system and software lifecycles and standards. Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS. High degree of working autonomy. Problem solving and good analytical skills. High degree of interpersonal awareness. Experience in working as part of a multicultural team. Ability to perform regular e.g. weekly, context switch. Practical knowledge in servicebased approach for defining services specifications e.g. ITIL. Experience in one or more of the following activities Integration, Verification and Validation IVV of complex systems. Testing coordination and execution and verification activities. Data distribution and dissemination. Ground Segment Monitoring. Archive systems. Computer systems, Network systems and IT Security. The following skills would be highly desirable Practical knowledge in toolbased requirements management e.g. IBM DOORs. Practical knowledge in Model Based System Engineering e.g. Enterprise Architect. Practical knowledge in the definition and formalization of interfaces between complex systems. Description Trajectory design and analysis of launch vehicles and related launch operations in the department of Avionics and GNC. Responsibilities Perform trajectory design, optimization, and dispersion for suborbital and orbital launch vehicles. Development of 6DOF launch vehicle and spacecraft dynamics simulators. Perform aerodynamic characterization of aerospace vehicles. Contribute to flight safety analysis, safety corridors, IIPs. Interaction with other subsystems and systems engineers for trajectory optimization. Contribution to launch licensing according to international regulations. Provide inputs for flight hardware structural and propulsion components. Preflight postflight data processing and correlation with simulations and tests.
