ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY This position manages the implementation and operations of IPS global platform infrastructure ensuring platforms are operated and maintained in the most efficient manner to maximize performance and revenue. The role also manages specific support to Sales, NOC, CSM, CAMs, etc., and interfaces other Global Services Practices as well as with SES Technology Departments. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Configures, coordinates, and implements IPS activations and grooms as determined via the Lead2Order L2O process and following established Change Management practices. Works with PLMPDE to designdevelopimplement new IPS platform solutions. Works with PDEplatform vendors to identify and resolve bugs and other services issues on IPS platforms. Owns Level 3 operational support activities towards NOC and to Customers as a point of escalation to resolve service incidents. Installs and configures IPS platform infrastructure as required by Platform Creation process. Resolves any issues that arise during the activation or grooming of IPS with the customer andor Sales Engineer as appropriate. Allocates customer IP blocks via the allocation database IP Control and registers the allocation with the appropriate Regional Internet Registry RIR. Maintains accurate documentation of individual service parameters for all IPS within the customer database SIT. Able to plan, configure, coordinate and implement platform activations, transitions, migrations, and enhancements as required and following established Change Management practices. Ensures all SES assets are reclaimed, and appropriate databases are updated for any IPS deactivations andor terminations. Identifies areas for process improvement and makes recommendations to improve processes. COMPETENCIES Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. This role is an integral part of the operations readiness of O3b mPOWER and subsequent and ongoing Operations group change across SES. The individual will work as part of the project Symphony team future operations design to ensure that all operational requirements are gathered and input to the various ongoing system developments across SES. Towards the go live of O3b mPOWER the individual will be critical in the operationalising and transition of all new systems and tools. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULTS AREAS Work very closely with the Operations architect and other members of the Project Symphony team and system teams across the mPOWER program to drive a robust set of operational requirements into system design and development. Provide, detail and own requirements into various ongoing system developments. This will also include detailed operational use cases for NOC L1L2 and Operations L3. Drive the operations input into the SES system level design. Drive the successful completion of operational criteria inside tool and system developments Create technical CONOPS documentation around the operational environment Collaborate with other functional leaders to ensure a seamless customer experience is understood and delivered across everything that we do. ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Maritime Solutions Engineer is the primary technical point of contact for prospective and existing customers within the Maritime Solutions Engineering team. The Solutions Engineer is an integral member of the Maritime Segment team, providing support in all aspects of defining, developing and implementing solutions to customers service requirements using the full suite of products and services utilizing both the SES GEO and MEO satellite assets and ground networks. The role will also require knowledge and application of hardware both onboard the vessel and shoreside. Candidates should have experience of RF, Link Budgets, Antenna, Network, Baseband, Mechanical, Systems, Operational, and VSAT engineering background as applied to commercial satellite managed service applications. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Perform link budget analysis to determine optimized capacity requirements and options on MEO and GEO assets Lead capacity management efforts for maritime customers transitioning between regions based upon itineraries and other requirements. The service support provider shall be creative and have very good problemsolving skills. Given the Service will be provided in a small team, the service support provider should also be flexible and able to multitask. Fluent in the English language spoken and written.
