TTC System Engineer for Small Satellite

Aurora has the opportunity to expand our support to ESA in the domain of SYS Systems Technology and Concurrent Engineering. Overview As part of the System team of Small Satellite project, the postholderwill be responsible forthe following tasks and activities for this 6 month temporary assignment System Avionics, System Software and System Communication from early definition phase through to implementation phase and launchoperations phase. Maintain interfaces with the relevant Prime contractors or subsystem responsibles industryresearch institute for the assigned projects. Support system and subsystem reviews of the assigned projects and ad hoc support. Follow up on technical issues arising on the assigned projects and participate in risk reduction activities. Help defining operations and support the inorbit commissioning phase of the projects. Specific qualification requirements MSc. in Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science. Expert knowledge of System and more specifically to TTCsubsystemwith focus on RF, through the complete lifecycle includingmission designoperations, systems design AIV, subsystemtechnologies. Knowledge of experience in the practical application of tailoredengineeringquality standards to Small Satellite projects would be an asset. Languages skills Fluent English written and spoken. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration in line withESA Job Class. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. Training to improve efficiency and provide strength for future career are of course included. Aurora assist with relocation both with support and financially. Ideal candidate Applicants for this post should have a university degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, together with extensive experience in the Software development methods and tools. Results orientation and relationship management are considered important. The candidate should be familiar with modern software engineering practices and tools Knowledge in Software production and test processes e.g. continuous integration and associated tools is mandatory e.g. JIRA, Jenkins, Confluence, DOORS, Eclipse. Software practical experience, Object Oriented design methods as UML and eCore, databases SQL, compilers, XML, XSLT, Linux, Windows and web application development as well as programming and scripting languages such as C, C, TclTk, Python, Java are an important asset. Knowledge in software standards space ECSS, aircrafts, train, automotive is interesting. A proactive and cando attitude is expected. The control, configuration, correctness, accuracy and relevance of all drawings, models, Assembly Models, DMU model, VPM models, Bill of Materials and Engineering Change notes related to the Configured Items for the allocated projects to cost, schedule and quality as specified by the Lead DO Engineer. All the project D.O. outputs must be self checked and signed to the checklists and CATIA procedures. These outputs are to be recorded through the DO Task Sheets. Support to other general DO activities i.e. process improvements, bid etc. This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. Required skills CAD experience, we are happy to train to V6 level Commercial experience in designing structure components and assemblies that are optimized in terms of weight, cost, performance, production assembly requirements while highest safety of the Product is assured using appropriate design tools. Ensuring all outputs from the Mechanical Design Office MDO is correct to the project requirements as stated by the core team generally the Mechanical ArchitectResponsible Engineer. All the project DO outputs must be checked, signed stamped by the MDO lead design engineer to the checklists CATIA procedures. Administering the release of drawings, BOMs ECOs related to the allocated project.
