Position Reference 520 You will have the opportunity to work in the Ground Software Systems and Functional Verification Section of the Software Systems Division. You will provide expertise in activities related to EGSE Systems. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Project such as eSail, PLATO support on the procurement, development and utilisation of EGSE systems, including problem solving, interfaces with external systems and project reviews. Project support for Ground Software Systems, such as the EarthCare Operational Scientific Ground Segment development, Level 0, 1 and 2 data processing, visualisation. This includes generic software engineering, software development support, collaborative software development environment support, software acceptance compilation, installation, running tests. Support on RD studies, specifically related to the currently under development European Ground System Common Core EGSCC, which will be the basis of the future Electrical Ground Support Equipment EGSE and Mission Control Systems MCS infrastructures in Europe. Maintenance and future developments of the EGSE Reference Facility as part of the Software Systems Laboratory. This includes software builds and integration of industrial elements to the EGSE reference facility as well as the functional verification in endtoend scenarios, maintenance of an EGSE software libraryconfiguration managementlab website, evaluation of needs and generation of requirements for enhancements. Support Standardization activities in the EGSE domain e.g. E7030 Monitoring and Control Data Definition, E7032 Test and Operations Language, E7041 PUS, E1023 Space System Data Repository. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a Master degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Space Systems Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline. You have extensive practical experience of implementing and building complex software systems in the space domain, in developing and utilizing EGSEs, in modelling monitoring and control data in compliance with the ESA monitoring and control systems legacy systems such as SCOS or future systems such as EGSCC. You have knowledge of modern software engineering practices and standards applied to realtime systems. You have knowledge of Space Systems and Space System Engineering. You have experience in one or more topics such as SW development Java, Eclipse Service oriented and component based architectures OSGi, Karaf UnixLinux system administration and programming Configuration management and build of large SW projects Git, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, Gradle Object Oriented design methods and corresponding tools e.g. MagicDraw Databases Oracle, Postgres, Hadoop SCOS 2000 and the SCOS 2000 MIB ICD Experience with the relevant ECSS standards particularly PUS and its tailoring You are able to work independently and to establish good working relations with ESA and industrial counterparts is essential. Job Description For one of our clients we are looking for an Optical Verification Test Engineer for their location near Munich. This role is to support the optical instrument projects in the field of engineering and technical procurement of optical ground support equipment and metrology tools. Main tasks involve performing optical tests and measurements in the context of the verification of instruments and critical technologies in the optics laboratory. Tasks and Responsibilities Support to engineering activities during AIVT phases focus on optical ground support equipment OGSE and metrology tools in collaboration coordination with other AIT activities Optical test operations Assembly of test setups for optical tests eg wave front error, polarization, stray light, etc. OGSE and optical metrology operations during instrument assembly integration test AIT campaigns Modification adaptation of existing software and tools as required for optical tests Execution of optical tests using the optics laboratory facilities, including thermalvacuum chambers Evaluation and reporting of test data. Summary An opportunity for an experienced Software engineer, with development and validation skills, to work on the Euclid Archive. Objective The Eucid mission objective is to map the geometry and understand the nature of the dark universe and the Euclid Mission Archive EAS has a central role in the Euclid mission. It is the role of the Euclid Common Data Model ECDM, which is developed across the Science Ground Segment SGS, to support full data lineage. The engineer will support the Science Ground Segment SOC design and implementation of this system. Understanding of virtual machines, GNULinux containers and their application. Ability to select, use, deploy and maintain a wide variety of open source technologies and tools. Systems integration experience in a GNULinux environment with network security experience.
