Reporting to the Software Librarian Team Leader of the Computer and Storage Management CSM Competence Area, the Software Build and Deployment Engineer and support all phases of software development, deployment and usage within EUMETSATs operational computer systems. The tasks encompass the building, packaging and distributiondeployment of operational software and the maintenance and evolution of the software management environments and tools. Within the Quality Assurance Competence Area QA CA of the Process Assurance and Management Support PRS Division, the Quality Assurance Engineer will provide Quality and Product Assurance QAPA support to the design and development of the next generation EUMETSAT endtoend Meteosat Third Generation MTG satellite system, comprising two types of satellites, a comprehensive ground segment and launch services, and system, and preparations for future geostationary satellite systems. DUTIES Provide quality and product assurance for the development of Ground Segment systems, including assessment of QA plans proposed by contractors, QA monitoring of contracts, reporting of detected anomalies and nonconformities and following up or managing investigations up to identification of root causes and corrective actions Provide quality and product assurance for the procurement of the Launch Services including assessment of QA plans proposed by contractors, follow up of quality aspects of launch service reviews, until the Flight Readiness Review, and support investigations as appropriate Contribute to the implementation and improvements of QA processes for the design and development of an endtoend satellite systems, according to the EUMETSAT Management System and relevant standards e.g. ECSS Define and maintain QA Plans and Working Practices for relevant development programmes Contribute to the preparation and execution of EUMETSAT system, ground and facility level project Reviews and of Progress Meetings organised with development partners e.g. ESA and suppliers Support the Integration, Verification, and Validation IVV Phase of the successive configurations of the endtoend Meteosat Third Generation satellite system Facilitate risk management processes, ensuring that critical items are identified and tracked, mitigation actions and plans are implemented, and lessons learnt collected and assessed for the prevention of reoccurrence Provide QA Reports and prepare QA documentation Perform andor support EUMETSAT internal and external quality audits. Within the Ground Segment System Engineering Competence Area GSSE CA of the System Engineering and Projects Division SEP the Junior System Engineer will support the management of requirements, design, development and implementation of ground segments of EUMETSAT endtoend satellite systems, in an approach enabling continuity of operations and control of evolutions. The initial focus will be on developing capabilities to reach full proficiency in the area of ground system engineering and knowledge of EUMETSAT operational ground segments. DUTIES Participate in the system engineering processes for managing engineering requirements through the lifecycle of ground segments, using formal methods and tools e.g. DOORS for maintenance, traceability, verification and validation of requirements Support the technical analysis of the architecture and specifications of major upgrades of ground segments, in order to ensure coherence and compatibility with other ongoing developments and identify impacts on baseline technical documentation Contribute to maintaining the architecture of the overall EUMETSAT ground segment through the assessment of relevant technologies and design options, based on a Model Based System Engineering approach Support the definition of the Integration Verification Validation IVV approach and the related tests for evolutions of existing systems and installation of new systems Support the maintenance of a complete and consistent set of system level documentation.
