Network Design Engineer

A Network Design Engineer is expected to be an expert in hisher field and thus be able to apply their knowledge to network design tasks and provide individual technical contributions within a design team. This role is for an individual with expertise and experience to Cisco CCNP certification level plus also knowledge of Juniper JUNOS and a demonstrable record of data network design experience The Network Design Engineer will work as a member of the Network Design Engineering team and be allocated to projects. The Network Design Engineer will report to the Network Solution Design Manager designated technical lead with respect to project requirements and, functionally, to the Functional Manager within the Network Design Engineering Department. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Act as a Senior SME for Secure Network Communications, within that scope o Devise, create and fully describe the logical and capability based system architectural solution o Identify the relevant COTS components to achieve these architectural solutions o The roles demand high proficiency in Cisco Juniperbased switch and router networking multivendor firewall guards, IDSIPS technologies Virtualisation, VMwareHyperV etc o Contribute to bid and delivery projects through assessment, design and implementation planning of ICT system, whist establishing the requirements on the underlying platforms and security requirements. o Identify the essential and innovative approaches for the hosting of 3rd party applications within the security and architectural constrains for a given programme. o Design of technical solutions Work with the assigned Solution Architect to within your SME Scope o Liaising with stakeholders to establish key elements and requirements o Preparation of impact analyses of change o Provide assessments of technologies used for o Support the definition of technology requirements and the selection of security and network technologies in support of the target designs o Contribute to planning, description and execution of the configuration, implementation and integration your area within the totality of the solution o Own the development of client deliverables such as assessment reports, requirement documents, technical architecture designs, operational procedures, user guides and training plans o Organize and document findings of studies, develop proofs of concept and prepare recommendations for implementation of new systems and their operational procedures Augment the delivery Lead Engineer to manage client relationships in delivery phase Contribute to the growth of Airbus business through solution and business development support This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth.We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience including proficiency Have completed a recognised Engineering Apprentice with HNCD or Engineering Qualification to Degree level essential ITIL v3 Foundation essential Skilled with the design of Directory Based Operating Systems. essential Qualified in at least 2 major Network Vendors and one OS vendor Exposure of working with a 247 high availability highly secure systems Skillful in identifying design risks. Proven experience of development of prototype secure solution within a multidisciplined team whilst providing operational daytoday management and control. Embedded Software Engineer

A vacancy for an Embedded Software Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Newport. You will be responsible to the Software Team Lead for executing allocated Software Work Packages within agreed cost, time and quality constraints. The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and integrating a software module or component as directed by the Software Team Lead. This will include the production of full design documentation and UML models associated with the software module. Software is designed, developed, integrated and tested in accordance with Airbus Defence and Space standards all supporting documents are produced in accordance with Airbus Defence and Space standards. Allocated Work Packages are completed by the job holder within agreed cost, time and quality onstraints Tools, methodologies and coding standards are appropriately applied to achieve project aims, in line with direction from the team lead. Technical design decisions are made within the context of known practices, established precedents and acquired technical expertise. Timely reporting to Team Lead on progress, risks and issues arising from allocated Work Packages Taking technical and task leadership from Team Lead Design, implementation and integration of allocated software modules or components to meet demanding technical, cost, timescale and quality criteria. Communicating effectively with other team members. Being an effective and productive member of the team. This position is based at Airbus Defence and Space offices, Newport, South Wales, with occasional requirements for business travel within the UK and abroad.
