Tasks The DSM manages Mission Data Systems MDS, which include Mission Control System, Mission Planning System, Operational Simulators, Service Provision Data Centre and Advanced Software Applications. The service provider may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional service, projects and activities within the scope of overall Mission Data Systems services. The primary areas of activity for the requested service relate to the following MDSs Preparatory work for future Human and Robotic missions OnSite software development for adhoc RD projects, innovation tasks, Lab projects The Data Systems Manager Service includes Development and Maintenance of Mission Data Systems Specification and management of Software Requirements Contractual and technical work for the start of a new MDS project Running the MDS software development and maintenance projects Support the Management and perform ESOC internal activities related to MDS deployment, testing, configuration etc according to ESOC internal processes. Support to Missions critical activities Organisation of Software Support SWS onsite environment preparation Role of Software Coordinator Support to missions during the whole lifetime Review of MIRD and contribution to MIP Definition of external and internal interfaces Contribution to the SFIRD, GSSRD, GSSTP and review of SGICD Support to Ground Segment Reviews Support to regular progress meetings with Project and ESOC team Support SVTSOVTE2E tests and in general FCT activity Support mission closure and retirement of SW and HW items Support to 3rd Party and Special Projects Support the ESA service manager in defining the technical and organisational setup of ESA service, including SLA and costing Interact with ESA external 3rd party entities e.g. EUD, GSA, DLR, NASA, under agreement of TR Support ESA from data systems perspective towards external entities, in particular to recommend agreement on technical and organisational interfaces Coordinate the inhouse and industrial data systems team Interact with companies of new member states in preparation process for new activities Assume the data system architect role for special projects which are not based on reference architecture of ground segments for missions such as SSA, METERON, IAP Contribute to bring OPSGD and Data Systems perspective in collaborative projects with other ESA entities, in the context of special projects and future missions e.g. NAV, TEC, HRE Coordinate the inhouse developments of MDS for small missions Support to study, innovation and standardisation Prepare proposals Run approved studies or innovation works Organise and coordinate joint projects with other agencies in the context of standardisation e.g. interoperability testing, prototyping Support ESA as a member of international Standardisation working groups Other tasks Support tasks at division level Support Quality Management and actively contribute to improve ESOC internal processes and tools. Support to OPSGI infrastructure activities Essential requirements Experience in development and maintenance of Mission Data Systems Experience in service Provision Data Centre and Advanced Software Applications development Experience in MDS project and documentation Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Your Tasks To ensure the successful production of current generation navigation spacecraft we are looking for a Junior Payload Systems Engineer. You use your RFTelecommunications training and work closely with spacecraft systems, structural, thermal, and Assembly Integration and Test AIT engineering to ensure satisfactory payload performance during production, ground testing, and inorbit. Analyze and assess the RF power, Signal performance, clock frequency stability, and other payload performance parameters. Support test campaigns by analyzing measured payload performance and assessingtroubleshooting anomaliesnonconformances. Analyze any nonconformances for impact and gain approval from customer. Review and assess supplier documentation and participate in review meetings design, qualification, testreadiness, posttest, acceptance, etc. as customer. Assess onorbit performance and anomaly reports. Travel regularly to suppliercustomer sites supporting testing and technical meetings as above. Your Qualifications Degree in ElectricalElectronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or comparable discipline. Recent graduate to intermediate professional experience, space industry preferred. ispace Japan is seeking a highly motivated and talented Systems Engineer to join its team developing its first 2 spacecraft M1, a lunar orbiter, and M2, A lunar lander. The ideal candidate will have broad experience in the system engineering process of spacecraft and good technical knowledge of multiple spacecraft subsystems. This is a unique opportunity to join a truly fascinating project, the first stage of ispaces plans to perform resource prospecting on the moon. In this position, you will report to the Spacecraft Systems Engineering Lead, and join a small, international team of engineers working towards the detailed design and qualification of our first missions. Key Responsibilities Perform system level tradeoffs, coordinating inputs from various disciplines within the team, to evaluate any proposed changes of the design baseline. Support the System Engineering Lead by contributing to requirements management ensuring all requirements are closedout at the planned project landmarks Take ownership of the spacecraft mass budget, propellant budget, and power budget ensuring appropriate application of margins and continually identifying opportunities to save mass and power, and to achieve sufficient loading of propellant. Ensure internal interfaces between different subsystems are maintained as well as supporting the definition and control of interfaces with Payload customers Support AIT and subsystem leads in defining test plans and procedures which will successfully verify the spacecraft design.
