Position Reference 454 You will have the opportunity to provide IT support to the Infrastructure Management Section. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Introduce IT synergies across the TEC Departments, aligning Knowledge Bases and lnformation Repositories. Maintain understanding of business issues, operating procedures and priorities, actively seeking opportunities for increased business agility, ensuring all different services are integrated and in line with the Directorates IT architecture plan. Provide help to formalise requirements and assess impact on security, software licenses and cost, especially where contacts among different services are needed and questions go beyond the current computing service offerings. Provide help with system architecture and design Encourage reuse of existing IT services technologies. Favour solutions compatible with existing infrastructure. Formalize user stories and requirements. Assess impact on security, software licenses, cost, etc. Identify required architecture components andor frameworks. Prioritizes architecture deliverables, and establish shortterm, midterm and longrange architecture plans. Maintain a broad knowledge of current industry technologies, methodologies and designs, and their applicability and appropriateness in various solution architectures. Analyse technical requirements to determine infrastructure designs, potential issues, and related costs Contribute to the selection, prototyping, and implementation of hardware, operating systems, applications, and technical solutions to business problems Take the pulse of and keep tabs on the general hardware markets for innovative designs, cost savings and market trends Provide technical leadership of activities related to the design, deployment, evolution and operation of the existing technical IT infrastructure and related services Evaluate new and emerging technologies through handson experimentation, providing an informed point of view and advocacy within the organization. Leads the evaluation and comparison of IT technologies, reporting to the management, reporting on alternative scenarios and assessing opportunities related to new and emerging technologies. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a Masters degree in information technology or a related discipline. You have 10 years of progressive professional experience in IT architecture primarily in systems administration. You are an expert in Enterprise Storage, backup and recovery technologies. You have experience in design, architecting, engineering and administering Storage and Virtualisation technologies. You have experience in Cloud integration of virtual platforms You have experience in cluster methodologies You are an expert in server technologies and deployments in large data centre environments You have an expert knowledge of Linux and Unix operation systems Solaris, AIX and RedHatSLES The following skills would be highly desirable You have experience with HPC High performance cluster Methodologies. You are able to coordinate between various teams in an Aerospace RD environment. You possess good interpersonal skills. You have experience with and active participation to IT coordination groups and in coordinating with IT service providers in an environment where shared IT services are largely used by the business units. Systems Engineer

This role based either at Stevenage or Hawthorn will form part of the Systems Engineering team for TCK. The team are responsible for the provision of support to project delivery and installation of services across all Airbus Defence and Space owned sites and at customer sites as applicable, support for the provision of Network Management Systems and Fault Management System infrastructure implementation. This role also provides service design and implementation advice to the support teams. The Systems Engineer will typically engage at the preparation for CDR stage of the project. Primary Duties Network design support to the design lifecycle PDR, CDR FsDR Diagnostic support to faults and security alerts on our firewalls Patching and antivirus updates and upgrades to our firewalls keeping them up to date and safe. Creation and maintenance of a lab facility enabling design and diagnostic support to the business. Travel is expected to the Ground Station installations on a frequent basis. As part of the role there will also be a requirement to travel to customer installations overseas. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Typical activities will include Liaison with customer, SDA and project manager to capture all user and system requirements in order to define the service requirements specification. Create full system design extrapolating from PDR design documents, including the creation of system concept model if applicable and all relevant documentation. Implement test the service including provision of oversight for installation activities. Systems engineers are expected to support installation at any of our customers sites. As a result overseas travel is to be expected. Development and ownership of Design documentation required for CDR and FsDR, including detailed design document, dialling plans etc. Liaising with relevant Network Management Service teams to produce a suitable fault management solution, and or billing solutions as appropriate. Lead the VVT stage of the project coordinating support from other groups as necessary Provide support for the service transition into operations, from FsDR to Phase 6, ensuring that suitable handovers are provided to relevant operational staff. Supporting Incident Management escalations providing diagnosis and recommendations. This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. Must have demonstrable knowledge of, IP, VOIP and MPLS systems. IP competent to professional level Knowledge of satellite communications systems. Knowledge and use of encryption devices including DCAP, Mini Catapan and Ectocrypt. Knowledge of serial communication protocols. Knowledge of test methods for the above mentioned technologies. Good report writing and general communication skills. Must be analytical and able to diagnose and recommend problem resolution. Deadline for Applications 06082018 Client and Location For one of our main customers, ESAESTEC, we are currently looking for an Assistant Administrator giving support to the Future systems Department within the Earth Observation Directorate, which is located at two ESA sites namely ESTEC including the EOP8M Division and ESRIN including the EOP8A and EOP8C Offices and the newly established 8lab. Tasks and Responsibilities Support in managing the Departments programme activities and milestones in liaison with the managers in the Department Integrate inputs and provide overview of resource requirements Interface with other assistant administrators and project controllers as well as with managers of other Departments as required Prepare and assist in producing programmatic status reporting as required Support developing and maintaining the integrated planning of the Department resources and calendars Support the preparation and conduct of internal and external audits Prepare minutes of internal management meetings, integrating various inputs, and maintain consolidated action item lists for the Department, tracking actions so that they are discharged in coherence with the established procedures Interact with staff in the Department as well as with other teams in the Directorate in order to plan, facilitate and stimulate the exchange of information, in particular within the Department since this is located in two different sites and therefore requiring efficient and timely exchanges, including organization of adhoc meetings, videoconferences, workshops and seminars, as needed Identify new topics for crosssite coordination and propose specific actions for harmonization and coordination Collate and organise highlevel information related to ESA management, programmes and activity plans in support of wideranging interactions relevant to the Future Systems Department Proactively manage the internal and external information tools e.g. SharePoint, web pages, etc for the Departmentrelated internal and external communications, including writing and editing web pages and circular letters, interacting via social media, etc. Support handling of documents from local DMS, including their maintenance according to QMS procedures, as well as from DMSs of external partners andor industry, from out of paper archives and other sources like ESA libraries, etc Support project controllers as needed in preparation and administration of procurement actions act as a point of contact for all documentationadministrative tools e.g. DMS, RID system, action item database, etc. used in the Department, acting as focal point for all such tools used in the Department Support the configuration management and risk management processes within the Department Compile periodic reports from inputs from various contributors for review and finalisation by the Department Head Support coordination and organisation of Departmentlevel internal and external meetings and reviews Manage the procurement of promotional items for the Department Oversee the administrative policies at Department level Handle communications and events of interest for the Department, including conferences, workshops, courses, etc Experience and education A university degree Bachelor or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 5 7 years of experience in administrative support, writingediting or other relevant experience, is required. Some background in elements of information science and technology, preferably achieved in a computer engineering environment and including some programming knowledge, is required. Excellent interpersonal skills, e.g. communicating and interacting with individuals at all levels, and the capability of identifying priorities and handling high workload with a proactive approach to problem solving, are required. Excellent planning and organisational skills, as well as initiative and motivation to perform to high standards in a demanding environment, are required. Ability to travel frequently between sites, namely ESTEC and ESRIN, and flexibility with the working schedule, are required. Proficiency in office automation and database software packages and in planning control tools is also required, with ability and interest to learn other applications and tools within an infrastructure based on innovative solutions. Experience in an international organization or multicultural working environment will be a key asset. Interest in technical, programmatic and policy issues of ESA EO programmes, with a desire to learn and ability to think outside the box, is an asset. Knowledge of ESA administrative and financial processes and experience with SAP and with ISO9001 certification projects is an asset. An open multicultural attitude, while caring for accuracy on the job and trustworthiness, is required. Full and proven fluency in the English language, spoken and written, as well as knowledge of another European language are mandatory.
