Our client in Germany is looking for a System Engineer to work on their GEO Satellite project. Task Description Senior System Engineer for the development and integration of optical geostationary satellites Technical responsibility for the satellite system integrity, including mission satellite performance, requirements engineering, design and performance engineering, satellite configuration, interface control for satellite subsystems and payloads, engineering budget control Managing the different engineering disciplines and satellite subsystems Definition of the verification philosophy from system to component level and definition of the assembly, integration and verification plan on system level, ensuring consistency with subsystem level and payload developments Planning, coordination and control of the overall design and development process, including monitoring and control of engineering activities related to satellite subsystems and payloads as well as procurement activities Focal point for lower level system engineers satellite subsystem and payload lead engineers Leading of an engineering team within the project, including management of subcontractors involved in system level activities Your role Degree in aerospace engineering, space technology, electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, physics or comparable qualification More than 10 years of professional experience in space industry as satellite lead system engineer, system engineer or in similar positions Experience of at least one full CD phase of a GEO Satellite Excellent conceptual and analytical skills Accustomed to work in teams with well developed communication skills Ideally experience in ESA or commercial satellite development projects Fluent in written and spoken English, German language skills advantageous

In this position, you will be working in the mechanical design department. You will be working on the design and development of concepts for sophisticated lightweight structures and optomechanical assemblies for a large space project. You will join the Satellite FVI, Engineering Tools Control Ground Segment division, responsible for the development of highfidelity numeric simulators and Hardware In the Loop HIL test benches for space programs.
