Lasers shined at 3 jets southeast of Dallas, FAA says

Three pilots reported being hit by a laser beam about 11 miles southeast of Dallas on Wednesday night, according to a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman. Lynn Lunsford, the FAA spokesman, said that between 7:30 and 7:45 p.m., three planes - a Southwest Airlines 737, a Virgin America A319 and a private business jet - reported being hit by the laser beam, coming from the same general direction, as they were flying into Dallas Love Field.

FAA Issues Statement on Austin air traffic control tower facility.

FAA successfully transferred responsibility for low-altitude airspace in Austin area to San Antonio radar approach control. Austin air traffic control tower's radar room was flooded during a record rainstorm, and completion of repairs is estimated at several weeks. During interim, air traffic controllers from Austin approach control will continue to work from San Antonio. FAA technicians re-routed Austin’s low-altitude radar data and radio frequencies to control positions in San Antonio.
