Serco and Proud Make a difference every day. We currently proactively looking for a Ground System Engineer, based in ESTEC, Noordwijk Netherlands. Main Responsibilities Specific Tasks Coordinating the definition of the Ground Segment Concept within the project team and in collaboration with teams in ESOC and ESRIN. Preparing and maintaining the requirements for the Specific Aspects of the Flight Operations Segment FOS, implementation delegated to ESOC and Payload Data Ground Segment PDGS, implementation delegated to ESRIN. Contributing to the definition of the Spacecraft to Ground Segment Interfaces and monitoring in collaboration with the Spacecraft and AIT manager proper implementation and verification of those Interfaces. Monitoring the implementation of the FOS and PDGS, and insuring compatibility between the Spacecraft and the Ground Segment Elements. Support Project Reviews at Satellite, GS and System levels. Preparing and executing ground system validation activities, including interfaces to the spacecraft in collaboration with the Spacecraft and AIT manager while on ground. Participating to the preparation and execution of the inorbit system validation, under the responsibility of the Commissioning Phase Manager responsible for the ground system activities during this phase. Other tasks priority is nominated Project, other support to be agreed with that Project Manager Participate to EOP ground segment reviews on other projects. We are currently looking for an experienced System Operations Engineer to join our international team of inspiring engineers and industry professionals, tasked with driving innovation within the Space, Satellite and Earth Observation sector. This role is rooted in EUMETSATs commitment to the European Unions Copernicus Earth observation programme and will provide the opportunity to work with leading IT, Space and Earth Observation organisations and domain experts and to make a positive impact on society! Background Copernicus is the European Unions Earth observation programme, coordinated and managed by the European Commission in partnership with the European Space Agency ESA and EUMETSAT. Its current and future missions are tasked with delivering high quality, wide range Earth observation services providing information to, among other things, improve the management of the environment, understand and mitigate the effects of climate change, and ensure civil security. The System Operations Engineer supports the operations of EUMETSATs Copernicus space and ground segment systems. The initial focus is system operations engineering for the Copernicus Sentinel3 S3 ground segment and systems, including the operations preparations for the recurrent spacecraft S3C S3D. The position will also provide system operations engineering support to other Copernicus missions. Duties System operations engineering and coordination of the operations of the S3 spacecraft and ground segments, covering the Flight Operations Segment FOS, Payload Data Ground Segment PDGS and MultiMission Elements MMEs Coordination and execution of the Operations Preparations activities for the S3C and S3D Satellites and evolutions of the S3 ground segment Support to the endtoend service monitoring and reporting for S3 Coordination of S3 ground operations with external entities, including ESA and CNES, in relation to the interfaces and associated documentation Contribution to the definition of the system operations concepts including satellite and ground segment for the future EUMETSAT Copernicus programmes Participate in anomaly analyses, engineering change requests, and investigations relating to system operations Support the Copernicus Operations Team Leader as backup for management and coordination activities.
