ResponsibilitiesDuties The role as EPSSG System Data Processing Engineer includes the following tasks and responsibilities System related analyses to ensure completeness and coherence of the concepts and design for end to end data processing. Special focus will be on Establish and maintain the system design in the area of data dissemination including maintenance of an overall budget Ensuring that the system design is compatible with all instrument calibration needsactivities Ensure that the system design takes into account all necessary auxiliary data needed for product generation Follow up of Instrument Functional Chain Teams IFCT activities from a system engineering point of view Support for the preparation and maintenance of system technical specifications Establishing and maintaining traceability between the system technical specifications and upper and lower level requirements The role as business development support includes the following tasks Support the Head of Division and Sales representative responsible for EUMETSAT with business development. This will include Support new initiatives and activities with engineering expertise Assess and research opportunities within EUMETSAT or based on our EUMETSAT expertise Attend exhibitions and conferences on relevant subjects Support the recruitment and screening of candidates for new positions QualificationsExperience University degree or similar in engineering or science, together with several years of working experience in a relevant area. 3 years of experience in the field of engineering of space andor ground systems, in the area of LowEarth Orbiting satellites LEO, ideally including end to end data processing aspects Essential Skills Ability to analyse systems from an endtoend perspective. Capability to prepare system requirements and design documents, and to perform systemlevel analyses for complex polar satellite systems. Ability to work on your initiative, proactiveness and little need for supervision. Interest in business development and aptitude for new ideas and the ability to concretize them. Desirable Skills Experience andor a sound understanding of EUMETSAT and its programmes is an asset. Understanding the Telespazio VEGA business and business development experience. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in system engineering or other relevant discipline Strong experience in System Engineering for the development, or major upgrades, of Ground Segments for Earth Observation missions Software development lifecycles, system testing for Earth Observation systems and knowledge of the Ground System Engineering processes and standards i.e. ECSS Experience in the support to the operations and maintenance of Ground Segments Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS Background in data processing or control systems engineering, initial experience in testing, integrating, verifying andor validating data processing ground systems or equivalent Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Description For our client, the European Space Agency, we are urgently looking for a system architect, which will coordinate a design team of several domain expert in the definition of an open architecture for a generic platform for the exploitation of Earth Observation data. As the design team will not be collocated, this position can be based in any of our offices in Europe. Tasks and Activities The system architect will first define a highlevel architecture for the exploitation of Earth Observation EO data supported by EO experts. The architecture will be then refined with the contribution of specific domain experts e.g. Data Provision, Authorization Authentication and Accounting and Data Processing to be selected during the project. In this second phase the system architect will be required to coordinate the work of the different domain experts and ensure the completeness and consistency of the architecture.
