For Airbus Defence and Space in Munich Ottobrunn within the area Germany Business Delivery we are looking for an EDRS Misson Operations Center MOC Operator fm. The European Data Relay System EDRS is a satellite based communication system, for the relay of Earth Observation data received from Low Earth Orbit LEO satellites via a geostationary satellite to the ground. It will be the first ever commercial communication system using laser technology. Airbus Defence and Space is set to become the systems operator and will provide data relay services to its customers. Operations will start in 2015. The EDRS Service and Operations team is being built up, to provide the data relay service from the primary Mission Operations Centre, located in Ottobrunn Germany. You will be a member of the Operations team in charge of performing the following activities during the operational hours of the Primary Mission Operations Centre PMOC Supervision of system performance and of automatic service provision to customers Maintenance of actual mission planning data and the mission schedule Supervision of planning processes and reporting to engineering in case of conflicts Supervision of key management processes Monitoring of the health status of all EDRS components Monitoring of service infrastructure and the distributed IP Network Monitoring the use of the satellite payload Level1 response to anomalies, based on procedures Data collection after anomalies Activation of engineering support if required User Help Desk first response during the operational hours of the PMOC Trouble ticket and incident management, including the generation, support and resolution of problems, for network and customer issues Routine Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul MRO for EDRS equipment Daily shift handover tofrom the BackUp Mission Operations Centre BMOC in Redu Belgium, in accordance with checklists You will be part of a team of several operators, sharing the above duties. In future stages of the project, shift work may become necessary. All communication relevant to the service will be given in English. Spacecraft Operations Engineer ExoMars power, thermal, mission planning mf The Mission ExoMars is the European mission to characterise the biological and geochemical environment on Mars in preparation for future robotic missions and human exploration. The mission foresees an ESA provided orbiter in 2016 and a Rover in 2018. The Orbiter will be launched in 2016. Following a 9 months cruise it will go into Mars Orbit and perform an initial orbital science phase for one Martian year. Subsequently the orbiter will be the prime source for relay communications for the 2018 Rover and following missions. The Rover Mission will be launched in 2018, transported and deployed to the surface of Mars by NASA provided assets. The Orbiter will be operated from ESOC in Darmstadt, while the Rover will be operated by remote centres under ESAs responsibility. ESOC will also be responsible for the overall mission coordination and communications. The spacecraft control system will be based on SCOS2000 with the support from the ESA and NASA deep space ground station network.
