JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities Duties Tasks The Mission Planning Engineer shall perform tasks related to mission planning operations, primarily involving the management and use of the Payload Data Ground Segment Mission Planning Facility PDGS MPF and the Flight Operations Segment Mission Planning System FOS MPS, within a SCOS2000 based mission control system. Workplace EUMETSAT Qualifications University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Required knowledge The Consultant shall have at least 3 years experience of low earth orbit LEO spacecraft and ground segment system operations mission planning, satellite monitoring and control using SCOS2000. Furthermore, the following experience is required At least 3 years of general programmingsoftware development, including at least 1 year of software development in Java or an equivalent e.g. Drools, JBoss Rules At least 2 years working with relational databases and sql, preferably involving Oracle database administration At least 2 years of working with files in XML format At least 2 years of Linux operating system administration. This position will be responsible for the Mission Control System MCS and Operational Simulator for ispaces lunar missions. ispace is a leading microrobotics Japanese company with a subsidiary in the United States and another in Europe. ispaces Hakuto rover won the Google XPRIZE mobility milestone award and is a leading contender for the 20M Grand Prize. ispaces lunar lander is its next step towards prospecting for, mining and utilizing lunar resources to expand human presence in space. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge base in Mission Control Systems, Operational Simulators and overall Satellite Ground Segment. The candidate is also required to have good understanding of Satellite operations. The effort includes all phases of design, from the definition of requirements, to the deployment of the system for the operational use and maintenance. Key Responsibilities Software requirement definition, design and development for a Mission Control System and an Operational Simulator Participation in project reviews e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR Interfacing with all the other ground segment elements, operation team and spacecraft development team Participation in verification readiness reviews and verification testing campaigns at unit and system level. Support the integration activities of the ispace Ground segment Support activities in the area of satellite database infrastructure configuration used by Mission Control applications Support Operation Preparation activity procedure development and testing Basic Qualifications Masters degree in Software Engineering or equivalent Five or more years experience in Mission Control Systems and Operational Simulators Experience in procurement process. MOC Mission Operations Center Controller Role Description Summary The position is responsible for the 247 support, management and monitoring of GovSat services, specifically supporting Governmental defence and CivilianInstitutional security communications. The incumbent is expected to take ownership, diagnose and resolve service anomalies in both the RF Payload and IP domains as part of a predefined incident management process. He She will also perform routine operational tasks such as spectral policing, trouble ticket management, service reporting and carrier lineup activities.
