The key person shall provide expert technical support in the MTG IVV activities, mainly to the MTG GS AIV Manager and within the MTG GS Team. The tasks to be performed by the key person include 1. maintain the GS IVV plans, schedules and verification control documents 2. support the generation, maintenance, review of test specifications and procedures 3. support the identification and development, or procurement, of test tools, and generation of required test data 4. support the preparation, execution, assessment, documentation of tests, including the reporting at relevant test readiness and test review board meetings 5. perform investigations into anomalies and their documentation in anomaly reports, supporting anomaly review board meetings 6. liaise with facility, MME and system teams for the resolution of relevant issues at facility, GS or system level, and the coordination of IVV activities across levels 7. support the facilities procurement and their reviews in the area of IVV 8. perform analysis and assessments of technical issues relevant to the GS IVV activities 9. support the conduct of GS reviews 10. support the Technical Officer of the MTG IVV Support Service in the definition and coordination of the activities to be provided by the service 11. deputize the MTG GS AIV Manager if so requested in his absence. PROFILE The key person shall have a university degree or equivalent in an engineering or scientific discipline and at least 5 years of experience in the development of satellite monitoring and control systems, andor payload data processing. Heshe shall combine a solid knowledge and expertise in the following areas specification and design of space missions ground segments, their interfaces and dataflows development lifecycles approaches and techniques for integration, verification and validation. Technical expertise will have been acquired in relevant technologies and tools, preferably from the following set Operating systems UNIXLinux Networking Internet protocols, TCPIP programming, network monitoring Automated software testing Requirements and verification management DOORS Meteorological data formats HDF5, NetCDF, JPEG2000 Programming languages CC, Java, Javascript, XML, Perl, TclTk Software development environments Eclipse Relational databases MySQL, Oracle The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. All crew and ground personnel training for the European experiments, equipment and module is performed at the European Astronaut Centre Cologne, Germany by a team of dedicated and certified instructors. Tasks and Responsibilities The work will be performed at the European Astronaut Centre EAC in Cologne, Germany, but might include exceptional travel in Europe, U.S. or Russia. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a University degree or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or in Sciences.
