Herhis main task is to support the definition of Ground Segment operations and maintenance activities and its evolutions as part of the future Galileo services provision. Shehe is responsible for Specifying the Galileo Ground Segment Maintenance requirements Contribute to the Galileo Change Management Process CMP document Contribute to the Galileo GCC Operations Concept document Assessing the impact of the Ground Segment maintenance activities and its evolutions on Segment Qualification status Ensuring technical requirement baseline and operations requirements baseline consistency during ground segment evolution process Supporting Operations from anomalies root cause investigation to validation from cradle to grave Specifying and verifying the elements functions following changes, troubleshooting and validation activities Assess the cost impact of proposed changes and evolutions on the Galileo Services financial envelop Defining and analysing the relevant Key Performance Indicators, the maintenance reports, the services rollout implementation of the new Galileo System Releases, the services provision risks and the contracts changes proposals Analysing the services provision and operations changes baseline configuration changes or deviations, operations processes evolutions and services provision transitions Supporting the qualification reviews of new releases of the Ground Segment up to services rollout Defining criticalityurgency for anomaly resolution, setting adequate priorities and ensuring a timely management by industry of nonconformance reports Participating to the Anomaly Review Board and NonConformances Review Board for the Ground Segment related issues Participating to the Ground Segment Evolutions development reviews and Contract Change Board relevant to the tasks under herhis responsibility Defining changes to the Galileo Maintenance concepts and requirements in particular from the Services Provider Requirements Supporting the ground segment and services security accredition for new releases Elaborating the Maintenance concept associated to the Galileo System evolutions Ensuring the technical interface with the Industry for what concerns Ground Segment maintenance and its evolution Liaising with the GSA Legal and Contracts Department and with the Administration and Finance Department for procurement activities Supporting the Galileo Exploitation Team for any topics related to Galileo services, mission and system evolution.

Thorn SDS are seeking a candidate to provide Ground Segment System Monitoring Engineering Consultancy Support within the Technical Scientific Support department. Working within the System Engineering and Projects Division, as a member of the systems upgrades team, the key candidate will be primarily covering the system engineering aspects of the design and development activities for the Meteosat Third Generation MTG Ground Segment, with emphasis on the evolutions of the MultiMission Elements for MTG. Thorn SDS is an AUG registered business with a local bilingual English German support team in Darmstadt. We specialise in the supply of staff and services into the space and security sectors and are particularly interested in speaking to existing contractors at EUMETSAT that may be searching for a cost effective employment partner.
