It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for a Mechanical Technician has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. You will be in charge to produce a consistent high quality product in line with production paperwork. You will be certified as competent in the required skills as dedicated by the area skills matrix. You will undertake production activities in the required timescale in line with the production plan. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Perform Mechanical Integration harness wiring and performance testing of Satellite Payloads. Working as a member of an AIT Operations team to consistently produce items which conform to all quality requirements in accordance with the production plan. Work to the required process standard as dictated by the relevant area skills matrix. Ability to read and work to shop floor documentation such as routings, drawing, work instructions and bills of material. Responsible for the completion of all paperwork relating to the operations undertaken, including traceability stamps and recording any other additional information as required. Responsible for working to and complying with standard processes, specific area requirments and health and safety requirements. From time to time you may be asked to work off site this may be in UK or abroad. To play an activate part in continuous improvement activities. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Experience of working within an aerospace industry would be an advantage. Background in the Mechanical, Electrical or Thermal area. Familiarity with shop documentation such as drawing, work instructions and bill of materials to standard processes and procedures will be an advantage. Experience working in the shop floor level clean room environment. Ability to be flexible and to work with deadlines and tight schedules. A vacancy for a Mechanical and Thermal Architecture Engineer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. The successful applicant will join the OptoMechanic division of the Optical Instruments Engineering department. You will participate in optomechanic and optothermal activities and will ensure the optothermal architecture activity within the framework of various instrument programmes. You will be responsible for the technical supervision of the optomechanic architecture and thermal instrument activity within the division. You will contribute to design, predevelopment and development activities supporting instrument projects and preprojects groups. You will be in charge of programmatic and technical performances of optomechanic and thermal instrument activities. You will be in contact with projects and be the interface with the design and analysis teams. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Defining the configuration and the thermal architecture of instruments in close collaboration with instrument project and preproject teams Ensuring the thermal expertise of instruments, validation needs and thermal test instruments Supporting the AIT instrument for the definition of thermal test means Supporting projects in the development phase for the procurement of thermal component Coordinating and steering design, analysis and thermal test instrument activities, defining the work plan and preparing quotationsplanning of thermal instrument activities Being responsible for optothermal instrument performances and preparing the synthesis of these performances Contributing to the preparation of thermal specifications for instruments and equipment and supporting the development of new equipment Participating in instrument and equipment reviews and expertise Participating in replies to Call for Tenders analysing the need, reviewing the suggested technical solutions architecture and technology, consulting and assessing subcontractor financial and technical proposals As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following skills and competencies An Engineering degree in the field of Mechanics or a related discipline At least 5 years of experience in Mechanical and Thermal Engineering Experience in optical engineering would be a plus, An advanced level of English and an intermediate level of French Please apply online.
