Your profile requires University degree in Aerospace Engineering 5 and more years. Very good expertise in structural dynamics of light weight structures. Detailed knowledge in the Finite Element Method and corresponding tools, like prepostprocessors and solvers. Fluent in English language. Knowledge of German language. Our client in Germany is looking for Engineer for the Satellite Mechanical, Thermal and Propulsion Engineer to work on one or several of their projects. This is a good long term consultancy role and would suit an engineer with a good mechanical, Thermal and propulsion background within the space industry. Role Description Input on a bid MTP related and to work on the ESA project and others after the bidding process is completed. Responsible for the MTP integrity, thus for system level activities including requirements engineering, mechanical configuration, structural design, thermal design and performance and propulsion design. Familiar with calculations on reflector array technology. Some control of mechanical, thermal and propulsion engineering budgets Definition, planning and control of the mechanical, structural and thermal analysis to be performed in cooperation with the specific discipline specialists. Definition, planning and control of MTP verification, including specification of test requirements control of mechanical and thermal interfaces for satellite and systems. Coordination with the Lead System Engineer. Leading of an engineering team within the project, including management of subcontractors involved in system level activities. Required Skills Degree in Mechanical engineering, Physics or comparable qualification. Several years of professional experience in space industry as MPT System Engineer or in similar position. Specialised knowledge in the fields of satellite structures, thermal control and propulsion subsystems preferably biprop systems as well as analysis. Additionally conversance with structural, thermal and orbit dynamics analysis tools e.g. NASTRAN, ESARADESATAN, Ecosim Pro. Several years of experience in a CD satellite project. Ideally, experience in ESA satellite development projects. Excellent conceptual and analytical skills. Strong capability of leading engineering teams with well developed communication skills.

System and Mechanical Support Engineer for ISS Columbus Infrastructure

Overview The candidate shall provide engineering support to ESA project manager for system and mechanical aspects related to the Columbus infrastructure sustainability and evolution items as described below. This will include daytoday monitoring of the activities of the Industrial Contractors and review of technical documentation. Specific Work Package tasks will be Support the establishment of the baseline for new items, from requirements up to and including the end item definition. Review and approval of Industry Specification level for equipment of the ISS Columbus module, and for postISS elements as required by hierarchical superiors. Monitor industrial activities for the procurementdevelopment and integration, test, verification of new or recurrent Columbus System equipment from structural, mechanicalthermal and configuration system aspects. Monitor industrial activities for the procurementdevelopment of the Columbus Terminal hosting platform in coordination with the other involved disciplines ExtraVehicular Activities, Human Factor, Thermal Support the organisation and conduct of project reviews for system, structural, mechanical, budgets and configuration aspects. Specific qualification requirements University degree preferably Masters in Engineering. A minimum of 3 years relevant professional experience post Degree. A good experience and knowledge of structuralmechanicalconfiguration design, development, testing and verification of requirements for Human Spaceflight hardware. A good knowledge of implications at system level of structuralmechanicalconfiguration aspects. Ability to effectively work in a team environment with other ESA organisations like Columbus Operations Division, and Technical Directorate and with Industry and to follow a proactive attitude to solving problems and also to work independently. Ability to work and communicate effectively in English. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday.
