000 ABPZ20 KNHC 210510 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 1100 PM PDT Thu Aug 20 2020 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Genevieve, located offshore the southwestern coast of the Baja California peninsula. A broad area of low pressure has formed several hundred miles southwest of the southwestern coast of Mexico. Conditions appear favorable for some slow development of this system, and a tropical depression could form by the middle of next week while it moves little. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent. Another area of low pressure is likely to form south of the Gulf of Tehuantepec early next week. 000 ABNT20 KNHC 202332 TWOAT Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 800 PM EDT Thu Aug 20 2020 For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Depression Thirteen, located several hundred miles east of the northern Leeward Islands, and on Tropical Depression Fourteen, located just east-southeast of the Honduras/Nicaragua border. A tropical wave located near the west coast of Africa is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. This wave is expected to move offshore over the far eastern tropical Atlantic on Friday, and it could become a tropical depression within the next few days while it moves west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph across the eastern tropical Atlantic. Environmental conditions are expected to become less favorable for development early next week. Advisories are also being issued on newly formed Tropical Depression Fourteen, located a couple of hundred miles east of the Honduras/Nicaragua border. A tropical wave nearing the western Africa coast is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms within a few hundred miles of the coastline.
