Spun polyester prices rose further last week in China, slightly raising spinners margins, although they remain low due to the continuous surge of polyester fiber prices. Viscose spinners in Qianqing have raised their price offers in response to the rebounding viscose fiber industry. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

Cotton prices have resisted above 80 cents in the last week in New York, when other products were falling on commodity markets as a result of the trade war between the United States and China. Cotton prices have also remained stable on the domestic markets in China, India and Pakistan. Cotton yarn export prices are further falling in India, in line with their current decline on the international market. Cotton prices are however staying unchanged in the country by contrast with their fall on the international market and in Pakistan. Our review of Indian yarn prices covers the domestic and export markets, including carded and combed cotton, poly-cotton, poly-viscose, 100% polyester and 100% viscose. Yarn prices are compared with fiber prices offering latest trends of spinners' margins. Market fundamentals are available on a monthly basis, including production and exports.

Yarn prices have stayed unchanged in the last days in Pakistan with Eid-ul-Azha holidays in full swing. With cotton prices now falling, the yarn market could follow the same way in the coming period.
