Spun viscose and polyester prices have sharply increased in the last seven days in China, in line with the surge of fiber prices. Gross margins have even bottomed out after being reduced by the sudden increase of PSF and VSF prices. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Domestic and import yarn prices are compared. All data are available for download.

Cotton prices have resisted any new decline in the past week and could stay firm at their relatively high levels. Demand from China remains strong and will continue rising whereas the recent surge of polyester prices could also support demand for cotton and therefore maintain cotton prices at high levels.
