Location ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands Description You will be responsible for the overall system engineering and system security activities related to Operations Engineering and to Segment Security Operations in Galileo Second Generation. This includes the definition and consolidation of the operational concept, operational processes and related requirements, as well as their verification, validation, qualification and certification. In the current phase of the project, you will establish and coordinate activities within the Programme and with industrial consortia, and liaise internally within the Agency and with external entities in the development of your duties. The Galileo G2 System and Operations Engineer will support Galileo Second Generation System Engineering in the Galileo 2nd Generation Project Office. The Galileo G2 System and Operations Security Engineer will support Galileo Second Generation System Security in the Galileo 2nd Generation Project Office. Duties Leading the definition, analysis and consolidation of Operations requirements for both System and Segments. This includes classified and unclassified aspects Supporting the correct implementation and technical endtoend consistency of Operations security requirements at System level Supporting the system design reviews PDR and CDR as well as the qualification phase reviews QR of security operations Actively contributing to G2G system architecture, integration, verification and validation in your area of expertise Coordinating with the Space Segment team and Ground Segment teams in your area of operations Acting as focal point in your area of expertise for G2G System aspects within the Agency and with the Programme and external partners Supporting Engineering Boards in your area of expertise Supporting the implementation of the G2G IOC and FOC Services, including completion of the associated system infrastructure and service milestones as well as the corresponding validation activities related to operations Generating lessons learned and contributing to Knowledge Management initiatives in the Directorate of Navigation Supporting RD activities within the Galileo 2nd Generation Project, EGEP, H2020 and Horizon Europe Programmes. In addition, the Galileo G2 System and Operations Engineer will Interact with the service provider on operational needs and requirements, thereby leading definition of the G2 Concept of Operation and supporting the derivation of related system and segment use cases and requirements. This includes classified and unclassified aspects Lead within the Project, the definition, consolidation and implementation of the operational engineering plan, operational validation, integrated logistic support, training processes, and support the service provider in the execution of operational processes. This includes classified and unclassified aspects Support the definition of the G2 System and Segments verification, validation, qualification, for the overall qualification of the requirements at System level. In addition, the Galileo G2 System and Operations Security Engineer will Support the implementation of overall security engineering for the G2 System and G2 Segments for Security Operations, including security requirements flowdown, implementation followup, security operations engineering and maintenance Participate in the definition and consolidation of the Security Monitoring specifications to support procurement of the associated ground and space segment infrastructure Support operations relating to fast adoption of the G2 security monitoring system Support G2G Cyber Security activities Support the definition of the G2 System and Segments verification, validation, qualification, for overall qualification of the security requirements at System level. In executing your tasks, you will coordinate an industrial support team and cooperate closely with the other team members working on System Engineering and System Security design and verification. You will also cooperate with the Space Segment, Ground Segment and other teams in the Directorate of Navigation, the Operations Directorate and at ESA. Additional requirements You are eligible to obtain EU personal security clearance from your relevant national authority. Knowledge of and experience in Agile methodologies and DevOps is considered an asset. You must also have proven managerial potential, and be able to lead and motivate a team of engineers and organise their activities. You should be able to demonstrate that you can handle pressure and conflict as may typically occur in a project team. You should be resultsoriented, able to set priorities, and capable of presenting practical solutions both verbally and in writing. You should have good leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. You should have the ability to work autonomously, effectively and cooperatively in a diverse, international team environment, defining and implementing solutions in line with team and individual objectives and project deadlines.
