Position Reference 819 We are currently looking for a Flight Dynamics Operations Engineer Science Missions RSPJUICEEUCLID Attitude Monitoring to work at our clients premises in the city of Darmstadt, Germany. The primary areas of responsibility is GNC monitoring and control and orbit determination and control for Science Missions, covering tasks in the domains of orbit determination, trajectory optimisation, GNC command generation and GNC telemetry monitoring. The key person may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional service, missions and activities within the scope of general Flight Dynamics operations engineering services. The key person will be primarily assigned to a particular service within the Science Missions but with the possibility of supporting other service andor missions. Service to be provided are primarily related to EXOMARS RSP, Juice and Euclid. Services may also be requested related to GAIA, Bepi Colombo, Mars Express, ExoMars TGO, Hera and Solar Orbiter. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Command Generation Execution of and support to operational tasks. Generation of task related command parameters. Generation of task related reports. Mission Planning Support Execution of and support to operational tasks. Generation of mission planning related products, such as schedules and planning input. Attitude and TM monitoring Retrieval of TM of the onboard GNC systems. Decoding and analysis of GNC TM. Sensor and actuator calibrations. Generation of auxiliary data for mission exploitation. Trajectory optimisation Trajectory definition. Analysis and implementation of trajectory targets and constraints. Trajectory optimisation and determination of optimum manoeuvre strategies. Orbit determination Preprocessing of measurements. Orbit determination. Generation of orbital products. Orbit geometry analysis. Flight Dynamics Application Layer Maintenance of elements of the Flight Dynamics Application Layer. Flight Dynamics System Development Specification of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements. Implementation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements. Installation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements on operational platforms design, coordination and implementation of tests. Participation in tests. Setup procedures. Flight Dynamics SubSystem configuration. Coordination of internal and external interfaces and actitivities across subsystems. General Flight Dynamics operations engineering activities. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics. Very good skills in calculus in one or several variables.. Skills in numerical methods for equations solving, integration of differential equations, function approximation and interpolation, optimisation, linear algebra problems. Very good skills in classical mechanics, including kinematics and dynamics of point masses, dynamics of rigid bodies, dynamics expressed in noninertial frames, conservation laws in mechanics, gravitational forces and field, orbit dynamics, keplerian orbits and Kepler laws. Skills to apply above knowledge to develop solutions to technical problems in cooperation with customers and other experts. Ability to define, implement, validate and operate software which applies the above solutions, using C as main programming language knowledge of UnixLinux, scripting languages and Fortran 77952003 is a valuable asset. Will to take operational responsibility in multidiscipline teams. Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Ability to work independently. Familiarity with the ESOC environment. Familiarityexperience with Flight Dynamics operations engineering tasks. Experience dealing with external interfaces. Experience with Linux, network services and protocols, and system administration. The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously. Fluency in English, both in speech and writing. The following skills would be highly desirable Being familiar with different representations of rotation in 3D, thus including the representation of SC attitude cosine direction matrix, Euler symmetric parameters quaternions, Eulerangles,.... Ground Station Operations Engineer

This service covers aspects including Operations of the Ground Stations Implementation, verification and operational validation of the new Ground Stations and their evolutions Contributions to operations preparations and system verification validation. Anomaly Investigation Preparation of Operational Documentation Training of personnel All members of the team should have a university degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline e.g. telecoms, electronics, radio frequency. Proven experience in the operations of complex ground stations systems TTC and Mission Data Acquisition in support of multiple GOE and LEO spacecraft in a real time 247 spacecraft operations environment would be hugely advantageous. The team will need to continually develop, so an aptitude for continual development and training is important. We would expect a level of competence in analysis, synthesis and presentation skills as well as good interpersonal and team working skills. Experience or significant knowledge in one or more of these areas would also be considered advantageous Major upgrades or evolutions of operational ground stations Definition and implementation of verification and validation activities of ground stations Definition, verification and validation of interfaces between ground stations and ground segments Diagnosis and correction of first line ground statins hardware and software failures Preparation of requirements, design, interfaces and testing documentation. Document management ab configuration control processes Definition of user interfaces for operations HMI, reports etc. Baseband operation and configurations Dataminer, Monitoring and control tools SLE operation and configuration.
