JOB DESCRIPTION EUMETSAT currently operates the Meteosat Transition Programme MTP space and ground satellite system, the Meteosat Second Generation MSG, the EUMETSAT Polar System EPS space and ground systems, Jason2 ground systems and a number of multimission facilities. The focus of routine operations at EUMETSAT is the provision, by effective utilisation of all elements of the space and ground systems, of timely and reliable operational services to the users. The Technical and Scientific Support TSS Department and in particular the System Engineering and Projects SEP Division is providing support to the Operations OPS and Program Development PRD Department he development of new programmes. In this context, support is provided to the maintenance of Operations Dissemination services. The data, products and services provided by EUMETSAT are made available to users via the following key delivery methods EUMETCast EUMETSATs Broadcast System for Environmental Data, is a multiservice dissemination system based on standard Digital Video Broadcast DVB technology. Direct Dissemination is the traditional way to receive the image data and products directly from the satellite that acquires the atmosphericearth observation data. To receive these data, users need dedicated reception station equipment. Global Telecommunications System GTSRMDCN established by the World Meteorological Organization, the GTS is used by national meteorological services throughout the world to receive, send and relay meteorological data and products. Internet Internet delivery offers an affordable way to transfer smaller volumes of data and products. EUMETSAT website samples of processed Meteosat image data and derived product images can be viewed directly from this website. Responsibilities Duties Tasks The Key person shall provide support to the routine monitoring, development and operation of current and future EUMETSAT dissemination systems managed by the Dissemination Team of the RSO Division. The duties range from the support to the operation of the various dissemination components, to the analysis, testing, and implementation of new data streams and monitoring and reporting functions. It also includes the settingup and implementation of operational procedures, and the coordination with external organisations and service providers. In particular the tasks of the Key person will include Support to routine operations of the dissemination and encryption functions within the EUMETSAT Ground Segments, including performance monitoring and in the case of anomalies, the identification and application of firstline corrective actions.
