Specific Tasks The Contractor shall support Earth Explorer 7 endtoend SAR mission performance assessments during the PhaseA studies of the CoreH2O and BIOMASS mission concepts. Specifically these tasks will include The development and implementation of endtoend SAR performance methods and generation of technical reports to guide mission evaluation and tradeoff studies. Support to the BIOMASS and CoreH2O EndtoEnd Mission Performance Simulator activities initiated during PhaseA including i the evaluation of the contractual deliverables generated by these activities ii the development and implementation of acceptance tests and test scenarios and iii review of documentation including software design, development and validation plans. Support to BIOMASS and CoreH2O scientific support studies initiated during PhaseA including testing of software modules deliverables and evaluation of their suitability for integration into EndtoEnd Mission Performance Simulator activity. Testing of OpenSF software framework implementation which provides the software architecture for the EE7 Mission Performance Simulator. Evaluation of SAR campaign deliverables, extraction of information and generation of technical data as required to support the above tasks. Specific Competence Requirements Applicants should hold a University Degree in a physical science or engineering and have a strong background in the development and implementation of endtoend SAR performance methods. This includes experience in SAR signal processing, electromagnetic modelling, SAR level1 data quality assessment and mathematical algorithms to generate geophysical products at level2 and higher. Technical skills in programming, data processing and analysis are required. The applicant shall be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team within the boundaries of assigned tasks and a stringent schedule. A good knowledge of the English language is expected.
