A new job opportunity has arisen for a Mission Control System Integration and Verification Engineer to work in the TSS Department as a member of the Mission Control Applications and Tools Team, which is part of the GSI Division. To travel within Europe may be required for certain activities. Typical tasks and responsibilities include Software engineering and software maintenance of multimission and missionspecific Mission Control Function systems and tools for GEO and LEO missions. In particular the following systems and tools Monitoring Control Systems and tools Onboard software management tools Flight Dynamics Facilities Mission Planning Facilities OpsPrep Facilities Data analysis and reporting tools Software engineering for the reusage of Mission Control Function systems and tools with the separation between generic kernel and missionspecific extensions Automation of application software testing Software engineering and software maintenance of satellite simulators Software support to operations. Integration Verification activities Integration of the various components of a Monitoring Control System and integration of the Monitoring Control System with the rest of systems in the Mission Control Function. These integration activities include software deployment, software configuration, adjustment of interfaces, analysis and solution to problems etc. generation and updates of test plan and test procedures both for the Monitoring Control System and at Mission Control Function level. This activity covers functional verification testing and nonregression testing manual and automatic testing execution and coordination of software verification and nonregression testing campaigns. This activity includes running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports, analysis of results, troubleshooting of problems etc. generation of test data and test tools that facilitate the software verification and no regression testing maintaining the verification status of the software requirement baseline for the Monitoring Control System. Software Maintenance Activities Preventive and corrective maintenance including the investigation of anomalies in the software systems and verification testing of the fixes. Technical Management Documentation generation and updates of technical documents routine reporting preparation and production of routine reports as necessary meeting participation participation to technical, progress and team meetings as needed and requested. Software engineering methodology Analysis activities focused on a common software engineering methodology and common software engineering tools for the GSI Mission Control Applications and Tools Team development of tools supporting these common software engineering methodologies User Support Software support software support to the endusers of the application software training prepare and provide training covering endusage and maintenance aspects of the mission control facilities. Software Technology Skills IBM DOORS requirement management tool experience in version Control Systems CVS and SVN Linux Operating System software applications using ODBCJDBC bridges and programmatic interfaces to MySQL RDBMS engineering of MySQL RDBMS administration of MySQL RDBMS Interprocess communication mechanisms, in particular TCPIP and CORBA standards XML processing schema design, validation, parser libraries, transformation XSLT and XPath Eclipse Rich Client Platform applications development. All candidates must have a University or similar degree in a relevant discipline and be fluent in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of French would be an advantage.
