Spacecraft Programmes Manager

HE Space is a successful international space company. For over 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for a Spacecraft Programmes Manager to support our customer in Germany. Spacecraft Programmes Manager Key Tasks and Responsibilities The incumbent is responsible for the management of a geostationary telecommunication satellite programme from the contract signature up to the satellite launch activities. The Manager will develop a long term partnership with the spacecraft prime contractor through trustworthy technical collaboration. More generally the Manager will contribute to the attraction of contracts by supporting the various phases like proposal preparation, proposal handover, negotiation and contract setup and support the development of new technologies and innovations from EU suppliers. More precisely, the following responsibilities Responsible for the Programmes Management of the satellite construction activities Ensure the satellite meets high reliability and performance requirements with no major deviations or waivers from contract specification Maintain high level of visibility into contractor activities and identify any potential shortcoming that could impact spacecraft schedule Manage the Field Office Team in Bremen Manage and negotiate any technical changes in the contracts Approval of milestone payments, Request for Deviations and Requests for Waivers Actively encourage spacecraft suppliers to bring innovative and cost efficient solutions and grow the reputation for technical excellence Use professional project management tools appropriated to followup, report and document project progress Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Masters Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent Several years of professional experience in the space industry, preferably with some financial and commercial experience Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of German language is an advantage. One of our space clients based in Germany is seeking an Information Management Consultant Engineer to provide support to GEO and LEO Programme development for all aspects of information management implementation.
