We are looking for an Telecommunications Systems Engineer Office for Institutional European Programmes to work at Harwell, UK. Tasks This position relates to support of activities during the initial phases of the satellite system design and involves preparatory studies at the level of pre Phase A but does not, in principle, involve the implementation phase. The service is expected to deliver support to the Office for Institutional and European Programmes. The following tasks are required Assessment of new concepts and techniques to be applied to next generation institutional e.g. security related satellite communication systems, for both space and ground segment Monitoring and assessing the need and potential for future satellite telecommunication missions and systems in the aforementioned domain Support the initiating and managing prospective studies on new mission concepts and architectures Analysis, definition, initiation and management of industrial activities associated to new projects in the telecommunication satellite system domain Analysing and preparing proposals for new telecommunication satellite telecommunication projects, in particular in the area of institutional i.e. security related programmes, including the definition of mission requirements Definition of all the elements endtoend associated to the missionsystem architecture of new telecommunication satellite projectssystems Assessment and analysis of the best concepts and technical solutions to meet the defined mission and system requirements Assessment of the potential and benefits at system level of new techniquestechnologies. Perform tradeoffs between different conceptstechnologies to optimize the endtoend system Support activities related to system studies and Phases A of new telecommunication satellite projects Preparation of inputs to status internal reports Acquire and maintain endtoend system engineering expertise for the development of new telecommunication satellite system concepts and in new ESA ProjectsProgrammes. The service contractor shall participate in working groups and meetings to support the preparation of new projects. Examples are Preparatory working groups to identifydefine new opportunities Exploratory meetings with potential industrial companies and with prospective partners Review meetings preparatory phases phase 0 and A Essential requirements The following skills and experience are essential A University degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering Significant demonstrated industrial experience in satellite telecommunication systems design, including substantial experience in satellite payload andor satellite telecommunication endtoend system engineering Specific experience in the area of secureinstitutional satellite communications systems, which is considered a valuable asset Other Information Start date is 15th April 2016 Fluency in English is mandatory Candidates must be an EU citizen or hold a valid UK work and residence visa To apply please visit www.scisys.despacejobs

RHEA is currently recruiting a Strategy Officer for Human and Robotic Exploration Programmes to support the Strategy and Planning Office at our clients premises in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Define and implement focused actions for fostering demand and promoting the utilisation of human and robotic exploration infrastructures capabilities to a broader user community, not funded by ESA utilisation programmes, including in particular, but not limited to industrial users space and nonspace. Develop joint marketing plans with ESA strategic partners from the private sector and support coordinate implementation of the plans. Define, in close coordination with the ESA Technology Transfer Office, an approach for leveraging on the Broker and Business innovation network, for acquiring new, nonESA funded users for human and robotic exploration infrastructures capabilities and support coordinate implementation of the approach. Support the organisation and implementation of B2B events and the development of outreach products targeted at promoting the value of ESA space exploration activities and opportunities towards focused stakeholder communities. Develop specific proposals for leveraging on the ERASMUS Outreach Centre for promoting engagement of new stakeholder communities in the ESA human and robotic exploration programme and support B2B marketing. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Master degree in science or engineering, complemented with MBA Track record of successfully implemented marketing campaigns Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary and international teams Basic knowledge of ESA human and robotic exploration programmes Strong skills in planning and organisation, communication, relationship management and customer focus, broader business thinking as well as innovation and creativity Ability to cope with pressure and deadlines Fluent in English knowledge of other member state language is an asset How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
